The moving speed of footman should be increased

So the PROs of Human also doesn’t know how to use them and easily get beaten in matches? Just watch the Back2warcraft channel on YouTube and see how few Human player matches are and how weak the AM+ft are.

That is one source of unbalance, although not the only one.

Is that what I said? I don’t think that’s what I said, unless the OP is actually a pro player.

Uh… you know that’s not the only strategy that exists right? Just… use something else instead if its so weak?

There’s a reason every race has 4 heroes plus all the tavern heroes to choose from. And you’re not supposed to just use the same hero every time, it’s like one tricking a champion in league or dota. Pros don’t do that, they know how to handle all their options. If you only know how to do one thing, you get countered.

I don’t follow them, I knew them since we were all a bunch of noobs playing with in dota and mod channel on bnet.
It was 20 years ago, when people started to form MYM and other stuff. Can’t even remember their original accounts, but, what must be said is that among a horde of the worst flamers they were always polite. They were the guys of the “wtf horse head???” and one of the things they did in order to gather info was the liquipedia.

The problem is, after many years game companies have realised that maybe just adding tons of GB of graphics and DLC doesn’t really make games to stand out. They have realised that few lines of code don’t make a game and random balances don’t really help. Take a look around and see this brand new opening position as “compat mechanics expert”. See how many companies look for something like this. Probably someone realised that a game is balanced on the mathematics underneath and not what that pros like to do or what many noobs want. Problem is, to balance even a game like WC3 you need a thorough knowledge of statistics. It is a very delicate process. From what I saw about the infamous HR system, they won’t get any… so the state of these games is doomed to stay as it is… unless some administrator has a brainy cousin to place.

PS
I dount that they can ever balance this game for me… whatever they do I’d noob a ladder anyway

This is an amazingly sick logic.
With such logic it was impossible to touch the balance since the tft release.
Because - 4vs4 rt players think that happy or sok or grubby are wrong in their balance remarks, for example

You’re not really making much of a case here? As we all know a certain somebody hasn’t realized any of that yet?

This isn’t the logic being employed at all.

That’s… basically what I was getting at in my posts. good balance depends on lots of data and using that data effectively. You can’t get good data by only looking at a tiny segment of your playerbase.

mmm… yes

The problem is that you don’t need it in the first place.
You could solve 99% of the problems in advance, then while testing, with players of different skills you could solve the remaining 1% that you missed.

Now it’s just about a bunch of numbers thrown in a database and then watch some games, pretend to listen to this or that people and then publish the almighty patch. That is a general problem, not strictly related to here.

Again you need to watch more PRO players matches to see their strategy. See if their strategy is AM+ft and see if they use the strategy you might know.

An easy way is to do so is looking at the statistic of first hero offered by W3C, of course at Grandmaster level only.

such arguments are simply irrelevant.
It’s about buffing the immolate even three times more and arguing it like:
“because rt player arthos666 wants it”

Well it’s not like we didn’t have a balance patch that was tested for 3 weeks… :stuck_out_tongue:

Me watching pro players play has absolutely nothing to do with balance discussion. I’m not looking for advice on how to play, I’m just explaining why you can’t just ask the top 10 players how to balance the game and produce a good result. You can still be sure all 10 of them will have different ideas.}

I myself am not making any specific proposals on how to balance the game. All I’m saying is improving game balance is a LOT more involved than “just ask the pro players.” You need to look at the overall picture. From there, you can analyze and identify areas of improvement as well as how those potential changes will interact with things beyond what those changes aim to solve, and so on and so forth.

I have seen an observed from many games (LoL was just an example) that you can not simply balance for the esports players and expect that everyone else will have a good experience too. If you only consider the 0.1 percentile you’re only making the game better for them, not necessarily for everyone. If you look at all of the data, you can identify issues that affect everyone.

Wouldn’t the main issue become easier surrounds with higher movement speed?

They could probably add some T2 upgrade that gives them a short sprint ability, or just an “every man for themselves” 5% MS boost or something if it’s really an issue though.

footies are already good at surrounding. Human might need help but I don’t think the specific request of this thread is particularly necessary. But what do I know, I haven’t won any prize money.
