Anyone able to do this or did everyone skip it? It’s definitely a lot harder than the orginal. And not a lot of helpful, detailed commentary out there that I could find, although one professional gamer did share his strat that took him 4 days to figure out, basically learn to micro like a world class pro and it’s possible, and he then ended with saying,“This was seriously one of the most challenging feats of gaming I’ve ever seen.” Ha.
I beat it, after studying several videos. 20% left. Had to reload saves a few times.
Figure I’ll post what I think are the biggest keys, in case someone later is googling for tips like I was…
-
Kill the towers inside the gate and attack, flamestrike, and forked lightning the groups of mobs inside the gate as much as possible before they come out. Careful not to kill the leader before he comes out or you lose out on the gold, and every coin is precious.
-
Turn off frost arrow when attacking the stationary mobs so you don’t waste mana, then turn it back on when they go on the move, repeat.
-
Bring shamanic totem from previous mission. It’s invaluable for stunlocking the leaders so you can kill them to get the coins before they run off to the other side of the map.
-
Get slow orb for Kael asap. Then as the waves come out, keep switching targets to slow, frost arrow, purge, and banish as many as possible. May not seem like much but it spreads the train of mobs out, which means each one gets more exposure to towers.
-
Some of the waves are magic immune, and flying mobs can’t be flamestricken. This is often a good time to run get some mana from the fountain and/or help kill any stragglers that get through the towers and come out near the fountain.
-
Have some gold ready for when cold towers become available and get them in place and upgraded in key spots asap. These basically double or triple the damage of all the nearby towers. Then put as many death towers near your frost towers as gold allows down the stretch.

I built all of my towers in three concentrated kill zones. SE peninsula, NE peninsula, and central S-shaped area where you start out. Spread the early towers out so you leave room for better towers later. I upgraded towers as I could, but I think you could also just leave them small and build more of them, I think either strat works. Cold towers MUST be upgraded, though, and immediately. The spash slow effect is necessary to win. I had like 3 upgraded, spaced out cold towers in each of the three kill zones.
