3v3 is the least popular mode. If you are queueing for Unranked, you’re sure to have a longer wait. Queue ranked. Even if you dont care about competition. You’ll find more players.
But again, 3v3 is the least popular mode. W3C doesn’t even offer it.
If you’re not playing ranked, you don’t have a rating, so how would it work? I guess technically there’s still the hidden MMR but that’s most likely calculated differently, as it’s not visible to the player.
It really doesn’t make sense for people who are playing for the thrill of competition to be playing against people who aren’t.
I wonder if Ranked and Unranked are the same pool. From a population perspective, it would make more sense. Even SC2 combines the Ranked and Unranked queues.
Yeah, like you said, everyone has an MMR regardless of the mode. Even in unranked, a fair match has to be created. The only difference from ranked would be that the outcome of unranked doesn’t have a placement on a ladder.
That’s the main criticism of mixing the two.
Unranked was added to SC2 during its heyday when its population was still booming, but Bliz still combined the two. WC3 is older (and isn’t Bliz’s flagship RTS) so it will naturally have a smaller population. If Bliz will mix them in high population situations, it’s definitely possible that the two are mixed here as well.
Sent a request for a refund after this patch, nothing (that i know of) got fixed and something that did work (barely) got broken. forget the long waiting time to find a match, i cant even search for a game its so laggy
