Also, things like this shouldn’t be announced “in the interview somewhere”. This should be on their official twitter, facebook, VK, this very forum, all of their social media pages, many, many months in advance.

That’s only because it is false advertisement; they are still advertised on the game’s official site, the only place where you can buy it.
What else is it, if not false advertisement?

Excuse me for having a life and thinking that a multi-billion company with hundreds of staff can deliver on remaking a 17 year old game, and thus not religiously hunting down every single little shred of information about it.

If you can find the 2019 Reforged Deep Dive panel, it’s in there. The full thing used to be up on YouTube, but it started being spread as known information after that.
Once again, send everyone who preordered an email, update your website, post on twitter etc. It should not be the job of the consumer to find information.

Don’t preorder games you don’t plan on following.
actually it’s not in there at all… In fact they say the opposite.
They not only don’t say they are reverting but at the end they even tease more cut scenes.

This sorta reminds me of when “The Division” came out. People were pointing to the original reveal trailer and how there was RPGs flying around and other things no where to be found in the actual game.
The uproar then was nothing compared to this though.
Because everyone who preorders is gonna follow everything? Heck, most people avoid following it to not be spoiled.

but with the division they didn’t still use that reveal trailer on the website to advertise it.

Not even the Culling looks like the Culling cut scene. So. They did nothing.

Yes features can be cut, but you have to announce significant changes to an announced product like this at the same level of announcement as the original features otherwise it is false advertising. So, for instance, if you do a nationwide billboard campaign for something, then do a local newspaper retraction that is not the “same level”. For Blizzard, if they announce the features in a large event like Blizzcon they needed to announce any changes they were making at an event of equal or greater popularity, at another Blizzcon, during a major esport event, etc. Since they did not, it is pretty open and shut false advertising.
All that being said, lawsuits to enforce this are not going to be worth it, if you are interested in such a thing realize all you will receive is a pound of flesh, any monetary awards will be minimal at best and far less than other remedies available to you.

So it’s even worse then the analogy you made and even then they still advertise the cut scenes in game.

Thanks for the video, he literally at the end says you will have EVERYTHING in terms online/multiplayer when the beta is over, that’s not true.
Also whats funny is Grubby talks about the street fighter map and how cool that Modders can do stuff like that, the guys agree with him that they hope modders can do more, but they stopped that as it’s not allowed anymore due to their new policy.
So much for, “they told us, you should keep up with info”. If anything this video just makes things worse imho

That due to divisive feedback from fans, and their own internal decisions they were shifting development away from the ‘Culling Treatment’ as they called it, meaning that the game would be as close to ROC/TFT as possible…
