I am going to include the instructions here in case anyone ends up here from Google.
- Launch the game from Battle Net.
(If prompted, click play offline)
A menu on the left now appears that says
Campaign
Versus
Custom Games
Replay
Collections
- Click Campaign.
After that, there should be vertical selections available for the respective missions you are on. The first one all the way to the left should say:
Prologue Campaign
Exodus of the Horde
The one in the middle, should say:
Human Campaign
Scourge of Lordaeron
- Pick any of the missions you are currently on.
After you select a mission, the screen will change. Once the screen changes, look at the bottom of the screen. A new option now appears that says SELECT DIFFICULTY. Click it, and you can now change the difficulty.
Have fun!
good news, according to my quick tests: you can change difficulty mid-stream without having to re-complete previous missions. each individual mission will have its “highest difficulty” noted.
and some surprising BAD news: when you switch from “classic” to “reforged,” or vice versa, your progress in one campaign is NOT reflected in the other. which is making my ability to compare the two campaigns a real pain in the butt.
how? im not seeing any options
