So game abandoned already?

4 months out and i havent heard much changed. Rumors of a Diablo 2 remaster is coming, from [Vicarious Visions]

So basically the dev team, and leads were not qualified to follow though on promise, restore missing features on a 17 year old game. Nor have the backbone to address any of the complaints? How does Blizzard expect us to buy another remaster after Reforge?

Nobody even cares about Reforged anymore, due to what has been released in the patches until now. Not much people also care about D2 remaster, giving what happened to W3R. Also, there are so many interesting ARPG alternatives I don’t think remastering D2 would be cost efficient.

Was thinking about it today I think its a matter of how they approached this remaster: high quality units that give you horrible FPS (using all your cpu and not your graphic card) in reforged and terrain same or; usual graphics with playable FPS… Sad to choose the second option… What an upgrade… lets not talk about the rest…

The same way they expect us to buy every WoW expansion. And if you look at the numbers, they’re not wrong…

And then Drenor

Blizzard has wrecked WC3, it’s much worse than before the “reforging”. It was their best game, I’m pissed off!

Just imagine. Connect to Battlenet, launch game… wait 30 seconds. Some crippled interface appears.
There is no lan anymore, you can only create a new character, but all your previous ones are gone. On the other side you get a card of a game you’ll never play.
No bnet chat or anything, you can only start the game online on a server in Papuasia.
You pick one of the 7 playable classes, no wait 6 cause one is broken, no 5, cause one is broken but officially “ok”, maybe 4 cause 1 has been nerfed for no reason, ok 3 cause another has no original dialogues anymore and just sounds like a pokemon in glitterland, mmm 2 forget about the necromancer for chinese audience, ok you pick the barbarian.
Obviously the menu is sepia, cause you paid, but not enough…
You start the game, clicking on the flickering magenta square at 3 fps.
“So Marius…” DISCONNECT.
“So Marius… at last” DISCONNECT
“So Marius at last I’ve found you” No disconnection so you can enjoy the same exact animation made 20 years ago but stretched for 4K.
You are in the village now.
You are not in the village cause you get disconnected.
You are in the village again, with your 666 ping.
You start to talk with the NPCs around, you notice a new one selling starcraft 2 skins for real money. Whatever…
You go out starting your quest, with no clue of how many acts you’ll be able to play.
You kill a couple of spawns, you get your first drop, you open your inventory. Game crashes.
Back to the village. You go out again, it seems like inventory is bugged, but who cares, it’s not that you need it right?
You kill more spawns, you spend 3 - 4 hours with lags, disconnections, freezes, crashes, to finish your first quest. You still don’t know what you got in the inventory cause it’s still broken, but, who cares, you can see some more grit on the armor of your barbarian!
You decide that the 12 TB HD rack you bought for running the game is worth the price, so you go sleep peacefully.
Next afternoon you wake up, start the game.
Game update…
Your rack begins to suffer…
After a while you start the game again! Patch and bugfixes announced!
Your character is gone. The interface is the same, but even more sepia.
Marius moved to pokemon go for the shame.
The inventory is still broken, but…
now your Barbarian leaves footprints!

No thanks, I played the original one a couple of months ago and I stay with that.

I lost all respect for blizzard these last 3 years. they went from my favorite company to most hated. First abandoning hots not Warcraft reforged

The company fell off big time, that’s for sure. A shame the that the hardcore fans of WOW continue to pay into their monthly subs and buy each expansions. Probably the only thing that keeps them afloat, since 6-8 year development windows and releasing subpar products that get bad feedback is not a sustainable model.

I mean I doubt Hearthstone and Overwatch are hurting.

And D3 ended up selling over 30 million units and counting.

In all honesty, I think Blizz is capitalizing on the love we all have for the franchises. Diablo, Warcraft and StarCraft have amazing lore, and are all genre-defining in terms of gameplay. Even if the new developments suck, we still love the origins, so we keep buying. And new people don’t really know how great it used to be, so they can’t be disappointed.

People drop fortunes on Hearthstone. I know multiple people that spend over $1000 a year easily just to have every card and only use 40 of them. I also know one person that never even plays Overwatch but logs on during every event to spend $50+ on loot crates to get skins.

People spent their life on WoW (literally) 15 years ago and Blizzard reinvested that money for making a University.
Now they spend money for outsourcing reforged (and the graphical outsourcing is the lesser evil…)

Something is wrong here…

December 2020, and yes… The game really is abandoned. Latest relevant update was in august.

This project must enter the list of the greatest disappointments of all time in the world of video games

Well done!

No worries, they killed Starcraft II also
Blizzard is DEAD.
Not buying Diablo IV or Immortal
Microtransactions? Like hell I will buy into that. NEVER.

as a developer, blizzard struggles. people have quit blizzard and joined another company. think that the problem is activision. it is not that easy to pull away however, because activision is more powerful. blizzard would need to start a new company and then transfer to that.

This game is abandoned by “Blizzard”

Its only the community and whatever power the Classic Team have in broader Blizzard, (Which isn’t much, but i’m glad they’re there)

Doesn’t mean i’m gonna get hopeless though, not really, i’m just going to work hard, and contribute to the game in what way i can, so that in the years to come next to 0 credits can ever be given to “Blizzard” and the community will have all the credits, if Blizzard at large so much as thinks to remotely take credit for Reforged i would personally go set a fire on whatever forums they choose to do that.

And again, need to draw a line between a Classic Teams developer and “Blizzard”. not the same in my opinion. they’re just paid to not talk negative, otherwise every single one of them got stabbed in the back by greedy bleep holes at Blizzard.

A year later and no Ladder. What a joke this company has become. Man, this is very depressing. Guess with all the former Blizzard people starting their own company now it’s definitely was difference in opinions.
