Shouldn't RoC Multiplayer make its way back now?

Let’s ignore the criminal last sentence from Pete Stillwell for now, which is basically a confession of theft.

Reign of Chaos was a feature of the game up until 2019 and was removed due to incompetence in fixing a bug introduced by the new team themselves.

It would be only fair for the game mode to be restored for melee, now that the current team seems to somewhat be willing to fix things.

Maybe they already are trying to fix that. Can’t know for certain. We can hope though.

How is it a confession of theft to say he gave people Frozen Throne free? RoC Balance is still in the game and available via the World Editor. So, the data isn’t gone-- just the button to do matchmaking.

Uh, literally giving everyone the expansion for free isn’t a form of theft. Nice try though. Even the people who have buyers remorse from paying for it only for it to become included later, well sorry but that’s just how the world works. That isn’t theft either. Also, as noted, RoC rules, as well as the original maps introduced with it, are still in the game. Only the ability to matchmake for it is gone. You can still use custom maps to use those rules, and further, if you really want to do RoC melee so badly, there’s a queue for it on W3Champions.

Regardless, it wasn’t just technical problems that led to the change, it was also a lack of popularity. If it was more popular, they would have been a lot more likely to fix the issue than use it as an excuse to remove it. Because the reality is, a small fraction of players stuck with RoC over the expansion, which for most of us was better in pretty much every way.

I don’t want to live in a world where giving every RoC-only owner the TFT expansion for free is a form of theft. Because regardless of how you feel about RoC, that’s a ridiculous and legally wrong argument.
