Actually no, some people in fact have observed an increase in performance compared to before the patch. Of course, it came with the TEENSY TINY problem (disclaimer: tongue-in-cheek comment) of the Mac version of the game being rendered unlaunchable…
But on Windows? The performance is about the same or a little better depending on who you talk to.
Whenever an update causes a performance slump, there is usually countless threads posted by people complaining about how “unplayable” the game is with lower framerates. But that did not really happen with this update. Instead, the bazillion threads were about the Mac version breaking.

if you cant select versus it means the server went down. Hopefully since they’re working SO SO SO HARD on the mac fix that afterwards they’ll do a better job maintaining the matchmaking server lol
