He’s a useless piece of scum hero that literally has no place in the campaign lore and allows pathetic neets to take up hours of people’s time playing 1v1 abusing solo tinker and doing absolutely nothing else other than slowly proving that a solo tinker is stronger than anything else in the game. Wow. So fun.
I’m sensing some anger here.
This reads like someone lost to a Tinker pick. Call it a hunch.
who the frick is Tinker?
I’d love to see that ragequit
It reads like someone who has wasted hours playing the same dumb idiot who does the same dumb crap every game. At a win rate of about 50-50, even the wins are the biggest waste of 7ucking time.
For pathetic neets, I realize this is no problem but for the rest of us with responsibilities in life, 90 minutes spent chasing a tinker around is no less useless or frustrating when you win.
If they’re so predictable via doing the same ‘dumb crap’ every game how have you not adapted if it’s the same person you’re running into?
Do you play warcraft 3 or just troll forums every day posting 500 times? It’s broken. There’s no adapting to it. It takes about 1/10th of the skill of your opponent to make a tinker with a staff, an invul, and buffed mooonwells more cost efficient than whatever you choose to counter it. Over the course of a 60-90 minute game (which is the only type these people are capable of playing or winning since they turtle themselves in hardcore) that cost efficiency adds up enough to scrape out a victory without ever doing anything but using the tinker ult to destroy buildings.
Another reason I don’t think you play the game. What’s the counter to the fastest unit in the game getting boots of speed? You don’t even really need the staff, it’s only a precaution for when you’re too much of an idiot to run away with your racecar hero.
slowing them so they aren’t the fastest unit in the game
On occasion for the former and it’d be impressive if I posted 500 times a day for the latter.
of course
Ok. So you spend 155 gold on a unit that dies in about 2 hits from the tinker and doesn’t disable a staff. Good solution. Very cost effective.
Btw, a tinker slowed with level 3 engineering and boots is still at about 95% move speed of a normal hero. So I spend 155 gold just for that? Pretty smart plan guys, such thanks
i completely understand how it feels to lose against such “strategies”. i experienced equally stupid playstyles i guess, although not solo tinker particularly. thing is, i know, if i had known what to do in these games, it might have been easy to counter. it reminds me of early starcraft2 days as zerg, spending hours and hours losing against different stupid allins. RTS can be frustrating if you dont know what to do. and i am not saying i do know that
why arent the devs commenting on this thread? We need confirmation that they are taking this feedback super cerealously
Walk to his base with workers and start towering immediately. 1-2 towers in your own base to prevent base-trading.
Funnily enough, Tinker is strongest when you are chasing him around the map, and weakest when he’s forced to sit still and defend his base from a tower-push. Pocket factory can easily be focused down if the fight is static. Pocket factory works well in base-trading because you’re usually not where the Tinker is when he throws it down, and you can’t kill it. This is not true for tower rushes.
You are losing because:
-
You expanded. You’ll never defend 2 mines against base-trading strats.
-
You let him creep to level 5 and then trade units to level 6.
Or if you want the easier but lamer solution to tinker, just mass 10 towers per base to cancel out his base-trading ability, and out late-game him. Eventually when the map is mined out and you both have high level primary heroes, tinker will appear weak v.s most other primary heroes except for DK.
Ok Timmy,
Show me where on this doll the tinker tinked you.
Teir 1 tower pushing the only race with teir 1 siege really isn’t the solution here. Just saying.
Especially on a tavern build. Huntress hall goes up way too quick and it’s so easy to defend with moving towers and siege that the tinker doesn’t even need to stay at home and can go creep all he wants.
judging that tinker is not used all that much by the pro/top players i highly doubt that he is “uncounterable”…
I made a video where I replaced the tinker with a new hero because of this thread as a part of my post on melee balance changes:
They do actually though. Tinker was used in about 99% of NE vs Orc until they were given an even more game breaking strategy, Humans like Infi and TH go solo tinker on large maps and abuse in exactly the way I described (minus the moon wells) and recently orcs have been going SH-Tinker against orc. Undeads use tinker vs NE.
Making him massing towers and glaives at home is exactly what you want to happen… You’re going to be massing tower and siege too, except you have a non-tinker hero that actually does something useful. A tower v.s tower scenario is not good for tinker.
Also, why do you feel like you have a right to catch a hero by running after him? By the same logic, do you run after blademasters too? Come on dude.
Tbh I usually see solo tinker from orc and HU, who have better buildings and cheaper towers. NE towers are too expensive and their buildings give xp. Moonwell is the only NE building that doesn’t give xp, and it’s 180g and super important. How the hell do you get out base-traded by an NE… Are you playing UD?
