Release date

I am somewhat disappointed.

When I pre ordered the game, the release was scheduled “until December 31th 2019”.

After playing the Beta for a while, I came to the conclusion that this game will probably get released in Q2-Q4 2020…

The version I am playing right now (Beta) feels like an Alpha version or even pre-alpha. The performance is horrible, there are millions of bugs and not even all animations are available.

It’s really sad that Blizzard has changed to the worst in the past years. Such a honorable company culture that has been destroyed by the endless greed of some MBA freaks who probably never played a single game in their life, but will come with Excel documents and tell you what people want to play. Then they play roulette with all these numbers, the share holders get hard “UHHHH! YEAH! 1 Trillion possible gamer for crappy Diablo 2 Free 2 Play. OH YEAH BABY!”. That no one wants to play that crap (okay, maybe in China where people will play every CENSORED BAD WORD mobile game and spend all their savings on it).

I hate to say it, but Blizzard is about to become the next €A. No more games made by gamers for gamers, but games made by Mr. Capitalism for his friends, the billionaires.

I have been working on a game which was in way worse “alpha” state (3fps, tons of graphical issues…), yet we fixed everything in 3 months time and shipped. And this was not an exception, it is actually quite normal.
Blizz is very close to release. I can see a release in Feb at worst (taking into account xmas and new years holidays).

If they delay, it will be Q1, no later.

About your rant on blizz, MBA freaks and what not, I don’t see your point… You seem to say the guy who decided to do WC3R (spoiler: it’s not how it works) is not a gamer and have no idea what people want to play, yet you preordered it, so you must have some interest in that game. There is an obvious contradiction here.

when it will be released likely depends on how long blizzard takes to fix the bugs. releasing a buggy game would be a bad idea. they did it once before however with warcraft 3. i had to patch it before i could run it. at least the current version is not that bad but, it is bad in other ways.

I think better delay than release some $#@%.

Agree on most things except couple. Dont think they are all gamers… They made the company for money ofc… But they also wanted to make a quality games and they did ofc. It started changing after wc3 and before second wow xpac. Some of them become radical, wont say names. And yea, something is fefinetly wrong with this release… Too bad. Blizzard can fall if this goes like this. Paradox.

I wonder if its on purpose. Or that, or they failed so hard (again). Even with ideal project they cant handle. Whoever made this mess and made the many famous developers leave the company… The same person or the situatuon strikes here as well.

You are either being willfully ignorant or out-right defending the radical change in direction blizzard has undergone in recent years. There is NO contradiction. The fact is blizzard stopped listening to their customers years back.

Do you, even for an instant, believe a SINGLE person ordered this upcoming game? That statement alone makes me believe you know nothing about corporate structure. AFAIK, ALL IDEAS must be approved by corporate management. A “single person” didnt authorize the creation of this game (or any other game). Zerberus was dead on: Blizzard execs are now ONLY listening to business majors that only see dollars and cents, not people, customers, gamers. Their new strategies of ignoring player feedback is beyond baffling. Diablo immortal? No one asked for that. Warcraft classic? Absolute disaster. WC3RF? they began pre-orders over a year before claimed release, a date which will obviously not be met. That right there shows a focus on income generation and a lack of focus on customer satisfaction. Blizzard executives have become complacent, believing everyone loves their brand and will eat up ANYTHING they spit out. Sad to say, the era of blizzard being a quality company focused on customer (gamer) satisfaction is gone, over. They’ve become too big financially, and have diverted all efforts to profits while simultaneously undermining quality.
I am a life-long blizzard fan, bought the first warcraft, first diablo games. I dont say any of this with malice or glee, honestly its depressing. RIP pre-activision blizzard.

I could agree with that, except blizzard will happily take your money far before their products are even near completion, and then delay, delay, delay. It’s all about money for them.

Oops???

Is someone replying to fast before he understands what he is reading?

Yeah sure, I mean, the OP is literally saying in the same post:

But yeah, no contradiction here. People casually preorder games they don’t want to play.

I have been playing warcraft since the first warcraft orcs vs humans . I still play tft . I feel like when they remastered war3 they should have done warcraft 1 and 2 and released it as a free add on . So the new generations can enjoy the retro games .

warcraft 1 and 2 is available on gog.

It has some bugs, yeah, but let’s not exaggerate. We’ve got like 10-15 (graphical bugs) I’d say at worst. There’s the moon well construction animation that doesn’t appear. Sometimes unit portraits vanish if you select an item and try to go back. Performance is definitely wonky.
But to call it, “Worse than pre-alpha” is exaggerating. Don’t stir unnecessary panic.
Also, has Blizzard been real crappy lately…? Like REAL garbage in their behavior? Yeah, of course.
I was smashing like on all those videos saying, “Blizz, you’re being trashy right now… Stop…” And the CEO walking out with the “pride pin” and not actually apologizing was annoying… I swear, that pin… Basically him saying, “You can’t criticize me cuz gay.” Bleck…
But as far as Reforged is concerned, I agree that I don’t think it’ll be ready for Dec 31 2019. But, let’s not frame it like, “it’s over for reforged!” We shouldn’t make people panic or get a mob going.
Reforged will come out eventually. And I’d rather they delay it and make a good product than rush out a buggy mess.

Is pre-ordering bad? Yes, I agree.
However, delaying means, “Our game isn’t ready.” It’s not Blizzard going, “Mwahaha I hate you and don’t want you to have fun.”
Company’s do NOT like delaying. Delaying means angrier fans (as seen here) and possibly loss in sales. So, while the delay is upsetting (and I’m even a bit peeved myself), we can rule out “Blizz is delaying cuz they hate us.” It’s cuz the game’s not ready.
And again, yeah I don’t like how popular pre-ordering has become… Even though I pre-ordered this game myself. First time I pre-ordered. Bwaaaaaaaaaah… But yeah, the delay is disappointing.

I’m hoping the people’s anger moves blizz to give everyone a bonus for waiting.
