Reforged on Sale - does this change the refund policy?

Dear Warcraft3 team,
for the first time since release Warcraft3 is on Battle.net sale now.

Previously, we were able to refund the game at any time.
Does this sale mean, that the refund policy changed?

I’d say that as long as the official statement of unconditional refunds exists, then no, it hasn’t changed.

I just bought the game a couple days ago knowing it will never be on sale and now its on sale im pretty pissed to be honest

Considering refunding it just to buy it again.

Can you do that?

I’ll be doing it, will report if it works or not.

EDIT: As someone who refunded it once already, it doesn’t seem to work for me at least. Will have to ask someone who hasn’t refunded it yet to try this out. For now though I will try insisting on this and see what happens.

EDIT EDIT: After insisting on it, I can confirm I have indeed refunded the game a second time.

How were you able to get a refund?

Probably had to talk to support to get them to fufill the request, since t he special refund doesn’t even require you to do so, as far as I know.

But even without the special refund policy, you can still get a refund within a certain amount of time after purchase. So I’m not sure that’s a conclusive yes.

When starting with the automated refund system, when it rejects the request, there’s a link at the bottom of the page (“I still need help”) that takes you to a manual refund ticket. From there, you’ll have text boxes you can use to explain the situation.

I first did a manual refund ticket explaining the situation. First I got a reply that rejected my request but after insisting on it (And linking the article on their support site that clarified the special conditions of WC3R) I got a reply from another support staff member who confirmed the policy still applied and got me the refund, despite having refunded once already.

I didn’t want to refund it for a few reasons. So, I am not trying to find that out then rebuy it for the discounted price.

Yeah, but it doesnt matter how you got to support to make the request. You could have followed any “i need help” button. It isn’t specific to the special refund.

In the context of my post, it is specific: using the automated refund request. The “I need help” link does go directly to the manual refund request page, no navigating through the categories.

Obviously the manual refund can be gotten to by manually clicking through the catergories. I’m not sure why you needed to bring that up when it had nothing to do with what I was describing. Seems to be more of your attempts to make sure no one can know more that you.

That’s just a convenience though, it’s not actually necessary, so you’re rather splitting hairs.

This isn’t about knowing things or any ulterior motive you can come up with. It is simply about being accurate and truthful:

Sure, I know you’re going to tell me that a refund is a refund regardless of how you got it, and sure, I agree with that. But the question posed in this thread is “does the sale affect the special refund policy?” And frankly, your experiment doesn’t conclusively answer that question, as it wasn’t the first time you purchased the game.

You didn’t get the special refund that Blizzard is granting anyone who ever bought War3, because you already got that. Instead, it’s just the regular refund policy that applies to any game in the battle.net store, which still applies to war3 as well. In short, your refund has nothing to do do with the special refund, which, based on your own experience, is only applicable once.

I have received confirmation, that the refund policy for Warcraft3 Reforged didn’t change, eventhough the game was on sale recently
