This was a huge part of WC3 and SC’s popularity and longevity. Not being able to whisper people (without adding them) or having a set of friends you can talk to with ease is kind of silly… Losing features on a 20 year old game in general is pretty sad especially when they were core and a big part of their online identity.
Essentially, your online name still could have been your ‘character’ name and then battle.net name separate like WoW.
Also, please make a new thread for the patch 1.33, there’s no need to combine a giant post from April 2020.
