Rank system

Finally we have a release date.
However, nothing has been said about the rank system.
I think at this point some more information is very important.
What does the blizzard want to do? Continue with the old level system or use the starcraft 2 rank system?

as i heared it will be sc2 system, it will be global matchmaking with mmr, so better players play against better, bad against bad, but ofc it all depends on number of players. Now in classic wc3 there are no mm cause a 80% player plays against a 50% cause not alot players so they maked it like that so you can find a game faster, but yea the mm will be now global so a europe player can play against a usa player, bnet 2.0 version, we dont know much because blizzard is very quiet.

i think the SC2 system is a more fun and fair system tbh…it lets you know exactly where you are in terms of skill and the transparent mmr makes it easier for people to track progress…

the war3 system is a bit outdated…the levels are cool but it’s a hard catch up mechanic for new players that take breaks and such…I think a league system is better overall.

problem with league systems is that they require a pretty large playerbase to break the leagues down into % properly.

To be clear though - Lower level players will still match against high level ones in warcraft 3 even with a league system. The way it will work is probably if a certain amount of time lapses in between finding games - the mmr expands so that you aren’t waiting an hour between games (yes it’s been that way before).

The reason is the sc2 playerbase is about 3-4 times larger than war3’s. Now - hopefully reforged brings in more ladder players so it doesn’t stsy that way but lower level players won’t be immune to seeing pros
