I’m not in the beta yet unfortunately but I have been watching a lot of gameplay footage and wanted to give some feedback about the rain effects on some maps whilst there is still a chance it’s of some value.
In my opinion it’s a poor addition;

It doesn’t look very nice. It’s just white lines flickering on the screen and doesn’t seem to have any effect on the terrain unlike you might expect in some 1st person games.

It makes visual clarity worse. Something many people have issues with even without it.

I assume it negatively impacts frame rate.
I haven’t seen anybody asking for weather effects, and I don’t expect that people would complain about them not being present. In my opinion removing it would be an overall improvement to both the visual appeal and the gameplay.

weather effects were in classic aswell. They re used quite often by map makers in their maps to create atmosphere. I don’t agree in removing them from the game, but i would agree to remove any weather effect in all melee maps.

I’ve been reading around more and can see quite a few people do want them. I agree keeping them in the game and just removing them from melee maps, like you suggest, might be the best solution.

I think something like rain effects are not to bad unless its not to loud and has a fluid crossing on the map.
but there should so be a option to turn it off and on for better performance or personal preferences
Weather effects is awesome, i like them! If people dont like, the game will need a option to have the effects or not, problem fixed
