I don’t frequent these forums very often so forgive me if this has been discussed before. Is there any avenue to report hackers on battle.net? Does blizzard have a history of taking any action in the past if they are reported? There are a few players who are very blatantly maphacking, and there are also others that have accounts that only count wins and not losses, although I’m not sure if that’s some sort of hack or if they have just found a way to game the system. Please let me know! Thanks.
How to Report Hackers in Warcraft III
To file a report for cheating, email the Blizzard Hacks team. Include as much detailed information as possible, including videos and screenshots.
Due to the volume of reports, you may not receive a response from our team; however, we take all reports very seriously. Thank you for your vigilance!
At the end of the game, on the score screen right click a player’s name and click Report.
Unfortunately it is extraordinarily difficult to prove maphacking. Many players make such accusations purely because they got jumped at an inconvenient time, but that doesn’t mean or prove they used a hack. The only way to definitively prove it is if a player does something that’s entirely impossible to do without vision- for instance, if a player has no units on high ground, they won’t have vision of the high ground and thus won’t be able to attack things directly (except with attack ground on siege units). If you see a player able to land attacks where they clearly shouldn’t be able to, that can be definitive proof. But someone simply catching you with your pants down is not proof of maphacking.
Yes, there are cheaters out there. But skilled players can very easily predict where their opponent will be at certain points in a match. Thus you can’t simply assume that every player who knows when to hit your base or jumps you at a creep camp is maphacking.
Thank you! This is exactly what I was looking for.
Just don’t expect too much. If you manage to get any results, let us know.
Your quite welcome.
