Put Warcraft 3 on Steam

Blizzard makes some really good games, and with the release of Overwatch 2 going on steam to boost player numbers ((Aside of getting review bombed)) worked on boosting player numbers.

I’m not sure any Developers can read this, but what’s the deal? Put Warcraft on Steam to get players again. Age of Empires did it, so WHY NOT Warcraft?

Wow. You’re hitting all the forums, aren’t you?

steam has quality assurance lmao… they would never take most hate review game ever in metacritic at their store. it would make the brand lose it’s value.

There are only three DEAD games, which have no reason to be dead. Warcraft 3, Starcraft 2, and HOTS are way better games than most of the games on Steam. Blizzard’s “Pretending” people don’t like these games and that it’s a waste of effort to put them on Steam is simply foolish.

Microsoft needs to snap its fingers wake this company up, And start moving DEAD games over to steam to GREATLY increase the player size.

Warcraft 3 is dead, it failed. Imagine amount of refunds steam had to receive if they had it on their store and people would realize that the stats doesnt even count most of the time.

Why? so it can get review bombed like every other Blizzard game that’s come onto steam? lol

Warcraft 3 is better than MOST games on Steam. Blizzard CHOOSES to keep this game dead by refusing to release it into the steam culture out of GREED. Blizzard fails to accept that MOST PC Players refuse to buy/play a game if its not on steam.

have you read the vibe around this forum? If they put it on steam it would probably get the lowest review sore in the history of steam reviews. It would get review bombed into absolute oblivion, because that’s what happened here on Blizzard’s own forums.

Who cares ABOUT REVIEWS. Every company HAS THEIR OWN EXPERIENCE with negative/positive reviews. The issue Blizzard has, THE MOST ANNOYING ONE. BLIZZARD SILENCES ALL NEGATIVE REVIEWS. There’s no such thing as a perfect game, but I think we can STILL AGREE. That MOST PEOPLE including myself would rebuy Reforged on STEAM for 60 bucks. Which would ALSO increase warcraft 3’s player base.

Simply Blizzard NOT putting their OLD games that would SELL WELL. Because blizzard hates reviews is just stupid. I’m sure Microsoft is going to EVENTUALLY force Blizzard to put their games on steam regardless, if whether Blizzard likes it or not. Because it’s no longer dumb calls by Activision, Microsoft WILL follow the profit.

Blizzard does, becuase it negatively impacts sales, even when it’s just a bunch of whiny people who aren’t reviewing the game on its merits?

If they bothered to keep supporting the game beyond one decent patch (ignoring the technical issues that arose), I’d be behind it, but they’ve been silent since December.

Yeah, and with that, you’ve killed your whole campaign… across all the game forums you have spammed this on.

Don’t get me wrong, Warcraft III has had a special place in my heart since it’s inception. But RTS games like this are very complex and challenging in the modern age and it is pretty tough for them to be super successful in the current age of gaming (it has been done, but top tier RTS games are few and far between these days…).

You should check out Diablo 4 on steam, I’d just link it but we cannot post links on forums. As of right now, Diablo 4 has VERY POSITIVE reviews, just like this game would probably get with it being RESOLD on steam.

Yeah, it has recovered since, but it did get review bombed early on, as did Overwatch.

But personally, I’ve long been a fan of Diablo II, and I was excited to see a little more of D2 in Diablo IV at its launch, but they’ve been gradually moving it away from that because apparently it just doesn’t resonate with today’s gamers, especially those that invested a lot of time in D3.

I only put this up on free-to-play games, or some classic games blizzard made. You act like this would take a 200+ team to do, Blizzard could EASILY put their old games on steam with 5 people or less. It’s not a waste of resources when you’re probably just another Blizzard fan who has NO idea what he’s talking about.

Uh, no. Nothing I said even alluded to anything like that. I said nothing about it’s ease, or feasibility, or wastefulness. I only criticized your claims of this game being better than most Steam games and how that kills your credibility.

And so, it seems it’s not me who doesn’t know what I’m talking about. Careful when throwing out retaliatory gibes. They wont land if they are backed up by fabricated nonsense.

And just like that, you’ve lost me. Why would a Blizzard fan disagree on bringing a game of theirs on Steam if it was that simple as you claimed?

You also really do not understand corporate mentality in publisher companies like Microsoft. They do not just want money. They want ALL of the money. They already sell their older games on GoG and have their own store for everything else where they don’t have to worry about Steam taking a cut of the profits. It’s better for them to just keep their older and more unpopular games on their own platform and their big titles spread everywhere for maximum revenue.

They won’t do the same for games that have clearly fallen out of favor with the userbase after they screwed it up like with Reforged. And even if they did offer a pre-Reforged variant of the game, people wouldn’t buy it cuz they either already own it or they pirate it since they already had a copy in the past.

I wanted to include that in my reply, but I left it out to keep it short.

But yeah:

…along with: a Bliz fan who disagreed with the statement that “Warcraft 3 is better than MOST games on Steam”.

Makes no sense.
