what just changed with this patch? my map which works on retail (2.0.0) is now crashing every time I try to start it up, as soon as loading is finished on the ptr (2.0.1). I’m assuming this has to do with UI, because on a different test map, the UI was super glitchy (especially with UI scaling), but would like to know for sure as soon as possible so I can make sure all the hard work I’ve been putting into this map isn’t going to waste because of a new patch bricking the map.
Recently, the ptr patch has been updated too frequently, without even specifying it. It seems that players need to experience it themselves before discussing it
It seems that a fix for BlzHideOriginFrames has been deployed, which is good, but it seems to be messing with other UI related stuff, because a test map with no UI triggers still had a very messed up UI.
it seems to be getting actively worked on so I’d wait until the notes are actually udpated before coming to conclusions.
My statements are based on tests that I’m running right now. BlzHideOriginFrames is fixed, but the UI is broken in other places, as seen here: https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/warcraft3/t/20122466-ui-is-broken-in-several-places/34289
They’ve also given us several ptr updates with no notes over the past week or 2, which is pretty annoying. That’s why I’m posting here asking for them.
They’ll most likely update the patch notes when they’ve finalized the set of changes going into the patch.
Probably whoever’s working on it is just committing to the SVN and building it whenever they add something, which isn’t optimal practice but not that unusual either.
