Please enable region lock option in settings

Tired of people (including myself) quitting out of games with 300+ ping. Give us the option so at least if you don’t have issues finding people in your region you can get better ping games. Also, nobody uses unranked matchmaking, so just get rid of it and merge it with ranked. average queue time for 4v4 is like 3 seconds for me. Put everybody together. Also being able to search 3v3, 4v4, etc. at the same time might help some ppl. Also not having a minimum time before game starts is an issue for some people in 1v1 because they don’t even have time to check the opponent’s race.

Off topic, but if you could make the post-game stats screen better at least a little bit, it’d go a long way. It’s sad that non-remastered RTS games made even before this original game can have better statistics. At least show us hero items. And rank players by total score like TFT version did by default.

These are the two biggest QoL issues I’m having right now.

if you could queue for multiple modes at the same time, it will just fill the games for smaller modes first and 4v4 would never pop. This is a terrible idea and would hurt anyone who prefers the larger games.

Hero items are not a useful statistic for the end screen. Items are semi-randomized and most of the ones that aren’t are consumables so you really can’t identify “builds” for heroes or anything like that.

It would not be hard at all to make a graph that shows what items were bought/picked up for every hero over the course of the game. Pretty much every RTS game made after TFT had detailed graphs, like AoE3 for example from 2005 had population and tech graphs. And it would be useful to see what items were picked up/sold by players. Just like it’d be useful to see build orders or population graphs without watching a replay.

This game was made before such things were common. But I don’t know how a “graph” showing items obtained would be useful information. If items were a consistent thing that was reliable over the course of a game (i.e. something you can compare from one game to the next) then it would make sense, but items are semi-randomized so it really isn’t that useful to track. You can’t really derive any useful conclusions from seeing this player got this item at this time and that player got that item at that time. They could have gotten anything (well, anything in a given camp’s loot pool at least) and there’s no telling how that would have affected the game.

and sure, it “wouldn’t be hard” for a full development team of people paid a good salary to make improvements to the game, but war3 doesn’t have that. there’s like, maybe one person working on it, we aren’t going to get any big new features like revamped stats. Even getting configurable camera zoom settings, I was absolutely shocked when we got that, and I seriously doubt we will get any new features going forward.

But seriously, unless you work in game development yourself, you really shouldn’t comment on how easy or hard you think something would be to implement, because the reality is, unless you do that kind of work yourself, you don’t know- and even if you do, the difficulty of implementing anything depends on exactly how the stuff that already exists was designed.

Lot of talk and no point. What you wanted to say Captain?
For me could be a good feature, Region locked or not - depending on this you can find easily games but higher ping or could wait a little more for a quality EU game.

it would be a lovely feature. but it will never happen because no one working on the game has the capacity to do it.

And as nice a feature as it would be, it’s not necessary in the face of all the other more important things they need to fix.

Also add the option to choose in wich region I want to host.

You can already do that, by simply selecting the region before launching the game.

Sorry to say but NOBODY from the developers cares what you, me or others complain. You can make 100 posts like this and nothing will change in this game.

Then why do I get chinese players all the time? They chose Americas and it gives me bad ping?

Anyone can play in any region. There is no “keep foreign players out” option.

If you create a custom game in your region, it is hosted in your region and they will be the ones with the crappy ping, and not you.

This choice is not available for matchmaking, which is global. In that case, it’s a coin toss whether someone in a different region serves as the host or if you or someone else in your region does.

That applies to custom games only. What ever region you select will be the region of all the players you see.

Funny how y’all americans and europeans complain about ping.

From east asia I play with 300 ping in like 90% of my 4v4 games.

You’re all spoiled with your 50 or 100 ping games.

Learn to get better and adapt to higher ping you fools.

Don’t look at me, I agree with you that people complaining about a <120 ping are ridiculous.

Even if I get a KR game, where the ping is not so great, I still play the game and do the best I can, because I know they deal with the same problems, and probably far more often than I do, and just want to enjoy the game.
