Greetings from Russia!
On Blizzcon we were told that English voice acting will remain the same, and it’s really great news. People will always love original voice acting more, right? And probably it would still be objectively better than the new one.
Russian version, on the other side, will get new voice acting. Of course, we really love our original voice acting, it has become a big source for memes and awakens nostalgia every time we hear it. But it certainly has problems. A lot of names were pronounced wrong because of the translation, and that’s the reason of doing the new voice acting.
New voice acting is pretty good, but there are several exceptions. However, I’m here only for two of them: Arthas and Jaina. New Arthas really sounds out of character, his voice would better suit some older person and not Arthas. What is more important, the actor sounds like he doesn’t really care about the final product and simply reads the script with no dedication. Artyom Kretov, WoW, HotS and Hearthstone voice actor does really great job. Why did not Blizzard invite him? Talking about Jaina, there are no really problems about her, but why not leave WoW / HotS / Hearthstone voice actor? Olga Golovanova also does really a great job and sounds a lot like Jaina from Wacraft 3. Wasn’t having WoW voice actors the main idea of new voice acting?
Please, consider helping this idea even if you don’t really care about Russian voice acting. We would really appreciate your support, without it the new voice acting would be disappointing, because the most iconic figure or Warcraft 3, Arthas, is unbearable to hear right now.
Thank you!
