Please add naval to Reforged multiplayer. Or make Warcraft 2 remaster.

Warcraft II remaster may come later in some form or another.
The problem with adding naval to Warcraft III is Warcraft III has not been naval orientated. You are asking for major mechanic changes to how the game plays which I am sure many players will disagree with.
They coded naval units into the Frozen Throne expansion and advertised the addition of ships in 2002 or so. Then they realized it would make everything incompatible with Reign of Chaos maps that lacked sufficient water, moved the ships to only exist in the campaign, and moved on. If you want naval combat, the systems are still present from The Frozen Throne and you can add back the boat units – which exist and will presumably have their models upscaled in Reforged – to use the boats in a custom map.
What we should ask for is UI customization. That way you can add a third Oil resource to spend on the ships, if you like. Currently this is impossible only because the Train Unit UI that displays the tooltip cannot display custom resource cost icons, and the bar at the top of the screen cannot display custom resource icons. You can already implement an extra resource that is invisible other than within a multiboard, however.
WC III is about bosses and their minions. Player controlled boss is called a hero. But their naval fighting capabilities are … none. Without integrating ships into the hero gameplay, not much interesting can be achieved. Unless you might have naval heroes.
You need a reason to fight over water. Oil was the resource in WCII.
FT brougfht only destroyers and battleships + transports. No subs. WoW brought in carriers xD WII ships provided cost-effective capabilities compared to other units. Battleship had long range but also a slow heavily damaging projectile. Without something to make them cost effective, you amass air and ships go down. FT destroyers were sunk so easily that it was almost hilarious.
FT battleships were that average siege with no oomph…

I’d enjoy it if they took inspiration from the custom WC3 maps like Lordaeron the Aftermath or Azeroth Wars in general, but with Naval Combat as well as that plays a prominent role in those maps.
Well with Warcraft III Reforged everyone will have RoC and TFT either for free or integrated with Reforged.
Ships in WC3 are a heresy, sure, but if I’m not mistaken, the early TFT rotation included maps with ships in them. Even W3arena had a map with a lake in the middle, and that’s a few years ago.
they were unfinished, imbalanced, weak, very short ranged with very small water surface to make it even less usable. They were very lacking. And you couldnt even build a shipyard, let alone upgrade them. This led to normal units making them mostly obsolete when fully upgraded. With small water surface, ships need range to be visible. Bring in the subs too.
i have developed a map that focus on ship combat. it even have ship based heroes. it is named war at sea.
Reason why naval isn’t in warcraft 3 was because the wc3 water doesn’t work like the 2d water tiles do (which isn’t water at all, really).
The building would be clunky and the terrain view distance/ratio of units/terrain would make them either useless or overpowered.
Take a look at every single wc3 map with naval units enabled.
Hero-raft idea:
Heroes can insta-purchase a hero-raft from shipyards (must be standing on shallows). Raft is really cheap (say 30 wood) and lets the hero move on water. It is lost when the hero moves onto land. Perhaps the raft moves at 75% regular hero speed and heroes take 20% more damage. Heroes can cast and attack from the raft, but attack 10% slower.
