Play as bloodelf

Hello everyone,

I bought War Craft 3 reforged almost a week ago and that leads me to one or two questions.

Is it possible to play as a blood elf against AI? Unfortunately I only have the standard races available.

Blood elves are part of the Alliance, they aren’t their own playable race. One of the Human’s heroes is a blood elf and the Spellbreakers are blood elves.

Shortly NO, Bloodelf and Naga was advertised in Reforged but never implemented to play with (except few campaign missions that broke/crash all time)!!!

Naga was never advertised to become a playable race, nor was the blood elves- which, as I noted, the latter of which are part of the Humans.

The Naga are the closest to being a real playable race (and the game does joke about it) but functionally they are very basic and just have the one hero.

It’s possible for me but not for you, because I modded Warcraft III for the last twenty years and know how to hack the game and put in blood elf as a default race, but you did not do the same to obtain the same knowledge, and that means that it works for me but not for you.

Wow, search on internet there are videos for that. I even put some, and I even put a screenshot from In game where they say Random can be Naga.
And BE was a race from campaign, so everything is there. Just enable Naga and BE play!
Community, Bloggers still have the Advertised things from 2019, even if official Blizzard removed them !

You want heroes? Naga witch one of them. Than we can use Firelord - and came up with some alliance story between fire and water, eg. Naga came to surface and volcano creatures joined them. Then you got the fat naga myrmidon - equivalent to tauren or crypt lord. And we already have 3 heroes now. You can add forth one, eg. naga priest or anything.

For Blood elf similar, I do not think the only reason is that heroes are limited or cannot be invented !

feel free to link to any of those advertisements

also naga being a playable race would be horrendously imba as they can move through and build on water

This “Walk on Water” justification do not stand!
Most or ALL of 4v4 maps are on land. I did not see any island map, correct me if I am wrong! They exists just in campaigns or little bit water at the side of the map.

you can play as blood elves but, only in the campaign. the blood elves is a campaign only race. by using the editor however, you can manually add the campaign blood elf faction. by doing that, you can play them outside the campaign, though it is a lot of work. i should know, i have done it.

Cat actually believes the random race button that says “Can even be Naga” :joy::joy::joy:

hat’s a shame because I really like the blood elves. It would be cool if you could play all races. ^^

There are some explicit sea maps with transport merchants.

I cannot rule out that there are some maps with deep water that is not intended to be passable, where Naga would be exploitive.

The bottom line is that WarCraft III really wasn’t balanced with shipyards or naval combat in mind. There isn’t even space to add a shipyard button to the building lists for some factions, requiring map-makers to use some very weird workarounds if they want to add Shipyards.

The two simplest workarounds are as follows:

  1. Use “building items” from artefacts merchants (like the Tiny Scout Tower, Tiny Great Hall, etc) to purchase and place the buildings.

  2. Adding more than 11 buildings to the worker’s building list. Some of the buildings will be hidden due to lack of space. To get around this hidden building problem, add a spell book with “Build Tiny Structure” abilities for all of the missing buildings.
Since the “build tiny structure” abilities are free to cast, this method also requires special triggers for each structure to cancel the cast and instead directly order the unit to build the intended structure at the target location.
The biggest downside to this approach is that you cannot queue commands once a “build tiny structure” command is given. The trigger commands will overwrite the unit’s queue.

Unless the video was published by Blizzard itself, it’s not official and should not be treated as such. Also, if you make claims, it is your responsibility to prove them. It’s not my responsibility to find your proof for you.

Yeah, that’s great, but I’m talking about the mission where you actually play the Naga.
