Ping Spikes all the time

So, im playing from Europea germany and i have ping Spikes all the time. This is not acceptable in a real time strategy game if u want to play online. I have a 30 ms fiber connection and ping goes from 80 to 600 ms all the time, ending in sluggish and delayed movement of units. I even tried a custom lobby to see if matchmaking is the problem but no, same problem, seems even if get connected to european servers it laggs. I tried a lot to fix but nothing helps, seems the battle net servers are overloaded, so i watched a popular streamer called grubby and he can play with constant low ping, how can it be, does he use some tool to achieve it, maybe he plays old warcraft 3?

Has it gotten worse for you over the past few days? I’m in NA and since launch I’ve had bad ping vs SA, AUS, Asia, but recently I get 500+ a lot of the time even when it’s two NA players in relative proximity. Custom game lobbies as well

i am from US and we get the same issues most games 80 ping to 180 ping others cross region 300-600+ ping
fix your stuff blizzard

Hard to tell if it got worse, the game is playable and the ping Spikes only happen sometimes, sometimes more or less but once u try to get better in the game as it it a very challenging game, ping spikes can make the game very frustrating experience, i didnt notice it so much when i started playing online, so maybe it got worse

You get high ping if your game gets hosted on a server far away from you. Currently there’s no restriction on server allocation.

Two players from NA in a 1v1 match can be allocated to the server in China/South Korea.

They ought to fix that at least, though with Global matchmaking you will still see ping issues when playing against people across the world should the game decide to host it on a server far away from you. Nothing much can be done on that matter, except restricting matchmaking to regions and once they do that… Don’t be surprised if you have queues upwards 10min or more :).

I would prefer higher queques over bad quality connection to be serious

Change your DNS Server to the fastest one available.

Use it at your own risk:

Leatrix Latency Fix is a program that reduces online gaming latency. It has been used already in the past by users for WoW, Overwatch and other games.

Note: Might help with TCP based games, but reduce overall internet speed.

I’ve used it in the past in games that only had servers in NA.
I might get between 5-10 better ping, but that is not enough when we’re talking pings upwards 200-400. You would have to make gains upwards 100ms for it to matter.

You’re likely better off paying for a Gaming VPN like WTFast though again, you are not likely to see any major gains it could, possibly, help you gain some 20ms (probably less). Certainly far less than what they claim you’ll get.

same exact issue from Germany. 1 gig fiber connection, full speed on speedtests, ping ingame is like 30 then huge lagspike and stutter. only happens in wc3 and nowhere else. also to the guy 2 above: changing dns has 0 influence on the game connection, the game uses IPs and doesn’t have any use for a domain name system.

seems it only happens if u get on a distant Server, best to just leave those games

I got that problem since about 3-4 days. However, since 1 day it seems a bit better.
