There is a noticeable regression in performance since the new patch.
This doesn’t affect only Lua maps, I develop a JASS map with not that many units, and there is weird stutter and framerate seems lower than it used to be since the patch.
Also I play regularly Hellhalt on bnet which is an old map with no Lua, and used to be butter smooth and now a lot of the waves that send units get really laggy.
A serious regression happened somewhere in the code, hopefully a solution is found.
Devs will read this and not respond for multiple months I think the indie team that is working on wc3 just goes on vacation after they release garbage like this. they make your game perform worse and then some GOOFY comes and tells you it’s your pc that’s the problem. tons of bugs and performance issues due to this undercooked joke of a patch
Blizzard must have singled you and af ew other people out, because I have no performance issues whatsoever outside of certain custom games. Framerates well beyond the maximum the game officically lets you set at all times. No stutters, no micro this or janky that, No issues whatsoever and on AMD hardware.
I’ve no doubt that you have a problem, but it seems to me it must be some sort of edge case because the vast majority of the complaints here have been associated with heavily scripted custom games only.
It’s also possible you are playing maps that are too lite for it to be noticeable, it’s also possible you don’t notice it at all because you are not tech savy enough, it could be also hardware related etc. But all that is a bit irrelevant, you should stop trying to derail topics from the most important issue affecting the game since a very long time. I developed games on multiple engines over years and I’m extremely sensitive to framerate being unstable or stutter, I have also /fps on at all times and the fps average are lower and the game is stuttering a lot although obviously if the maps you play is very minimal like melee, you won’t really notice it.
It has to be fixed and quickly if possible, it’s really bad.
I can notice performance fluctuations no matter the intensity of the map. Any drain on resources will lower framerate, and war3 will display the actual framerate even with the “300” cap in the game options.
And if only some maps give you a performance problem, then that indicates that you’re being affected by the scripting “optimizations” implemented in the patch, which is a well known issue, despite your denial.
And that’s a trend that i’ve noticed, virtually all of these threads and complaints are about a custom game or custom games in general. The fact that my performance in normal games has not even dropped by 1 FPS, and debatably may have even increased slightly, tells me that despite your insistence to the contrary, this is a custom game specific issue.
could very well be the case of custom game only issue, still needs to be solved through its actual cancer to play a map that used to run as best as you could ask it to like lets say 15-40 fps. and then a patch comes out and now its 0.5-10 that’s insane. literally map killing framerate drops. with this patch specifically it has fps drops stutters and skips. its even seen in some less intensive maps. the performance feels off.
