Patch 2.0.0 was detected on test realms

And you are so late to the party. It was all figured out long before you made this post, and was corrected by multiple other people LONG before you, so there was no reason for you to make this post other than to harass or anger.

I know you love calling people wrong, but you’re several hours too late, some other guy beat you to it. We already spent several hours arguing about it, and in the end, I watched the video and now know everything that you do.

Regardless, what I said (where you specifically quoted) was not wrong. The PTR that is ACCESSIBLE TO PLAYERS is on version 1.36.2.21146. Battle.net app is so free.

Calling a development version a PTR is “confidently wrong” as the P stands for Public and the server being referred to by the site you linked, and the video everyone is talking about, is not a public server.

And again: if someone makes claims with no context, it is up to THEM to prove their claims. It’s not my responsibility to google or otherwise research or prove someon else’s claims. The OP should have posted a link to the video or the website in question, and then that comment would never have been made.

Development version called “PTR Internal” . You are welcome.
As i said before i didnt know that pictures, urls are allowed here.

Yeah, I get that it’s actually called that- but the fact is, that causes ambiguity with the ACTUAL PTR that we have access to.

Therfore it is entirely logical that if someone mentions the PTR in a topic title, like this one, that someone unaware of the goings-on would assume they’re talking about the actually public PTR.

You’re welcome.

You can post links by using the Code Tags. Click the button on the formatting bar in the post editor that looks like this
< / >
You will get this:

www.example.com/example.jpg

Then any user can just copy paste. In fact, if you mouse over the link above a button to copy the link will appear.

There is a way to actually post images and links directly, but it basically requires you to both read and post in a huge number of threads over a certain period of time. You also have to maintain that level activity or the privilege is lost.

No. You want it to be like you said. But truth is that topic called “Patch 2.0.0. was detected on test realms” , there is mentioning of PTR. It says test realms and it means test realms. Not “test realms that are available for every player” , no. Only testing realms. You want to be right in something in that topic, but you are wrong, again, as in most of times.

you’are welcome.

As I explained to you before:

If you just say “detected on PTR realms” my assumption is the public PTR, because at the time of your original post, I was not aware of the video everyone is now talking about and thus was not aware of what happened.

Granted, it is partly the dev’s fault for not calling their internal branch something different. But you could have provided more information.

If you had included more information in your post, I would not have had to guess as to what you were actually talking about, nor would I have jumped to conclusions about you being a troll. But you basically just made the topic title some kind of announcement and the body of your post basically amounts to “Discuss.” And for anyone like me who did not know about the video yet, we would have had no idea what you were talking about. Hopefully, that clears this up. You’re welcome.

Sorry, I am not wrong “as in most of times.” I am wrong occasionally, and when I am, I admit it. I do not need people like you to calll me wrong. But because I post a lot, you just see me more and you have confirmation bias- you only notice the cases where it happens, and you conveniently don’t notice the times where I’m correct or do something helpful for someone. I also do not post with any particular desire to “be right.” It’s nice if I am, of course, but I recognize that I will not always be and it’s always a simple honest mistake if I’m not.

I do make mistakes sometimes, as I did here. And I have no problem admitting that. You seem to like calling people wrong more than anyone else wants to be right.

I do not come here and post on the forums just for the sake of trying to be right about things. I do not pretend to be the smartest person in the universe, I do not claim to be an expert, and I am sick and tired of people like you and Leviathan and GrapesOfWrath harassing me for being wrong about something. Just say “sorry, but actually, ” in a friendly way, and then I can say “oops, I must have misunderstood / been misinformed / read the wrong thing somewhere / whatever; thanks for letting me know.” You don’t have to be a jerk about it.

When you say something wild and unbelievable like saying we’re getting a 2.0.0 patch, without any context or links to information, it’s easy to assume that you are trolling because lots of similar trolls have been done in the past. It’s like the Boy Who Cried Wolf- When people make up too much stuff, people dont believe you when you say something that’s actually true.

It’s CaptainJack he’s one of the biggest trolls of this forums. If we had mods here he would be long time gone.

100% agree. It takes so much time to read this longreads, so its time to turn on the ignore machine.

Nothing ever happens

Except patches that break the game (haven’t been able to play my fav game for 2 weeks since blizz broke the mac version)

Expect nothing, and still be disappointed

In fairness, you do have to admit that there is more than a 0% chance that someone might see the term “test realm” and confuse it with PTR, not an internal testing server.

CaptainJack did drop the ball on this one, but there he does have a point. Not everybody is aware of these things, so a vague mentioning of “patch 2.0 detected in test realms” without any further details beyond making up hype is not going to do anything beyond confusing people, especially new players.

I wanted to post a response right when this thread was up, but my PC utterly bricked and refused to boot, imagine WC3 getting 2.0 on my birthday AND my computer REFUSING to work exactly on that day! Insanity.

op didn’t say PTR, you did :~)
also, you’re making a claim when you tell people that they’re making stuff up 24/7, perhaps you should try to prove that? maybe ask questions first and shoot later? perhaps you’d stop making a fool out of yourself if you changed your approach a little bit.

Nitpicking. It says “Test Realms.” Which, not knowing of the dev PTR (which is actually still called a PTR internally, as others noted, so again, not wrong there) at the time, makes the assumption that they’re talking about the PTR entirely resonable.

Patently false. People don’t even post new threads often enough for that to be the case even if I went into every single thread and said “you’re making it up” which, I don’t. If you just go into every thread I post to call me wrong about something, you’re going to get the wrong end of the stick eventually, because, while I do make mistakes, unfortunately for you I’m not always wrong. So in all actuality, I’m not the one making a fool out of myself because I’m not the one going out of their way to call people wrong- that’s all you.

It would honestly help everybody if you and Leviathan stop making every thread about me and focus on, you know, the topic instead. But you enjoy tearing people down so much that I doubt that will happen. But I’ve been known to be wrong before, so I hope I am this time!

In fact, I invite you to ask for proof of claims. Doubt something I say? Instead of just calling me wrong, ask me to prove it  Just as I do, if you doubt a claim, you absolutely should ask for proof.

you tend to not do this though, you have a habit of just telling people they’re lying, as seen here:

and here

Saying i’ve never heard of something != saying “You’re lying.”

And as I’ve explained before, I had every reason to believe this was a troll thread until other people stepped in to say it was real. It contained a claim that seemed ridiculous on its face.

And in the case of a thread like this one, the OP could have saved us all a lot of trouble by actually referring to what he was talking about instead of making the topic title the entire post. Then there wouldn’t have been any question. It’s that simple.

The OP did clarify they thought they couldn’t post links- however, they still could have put more information into the post.

That said: I’ll agree that I could have requested they provide the necessary information first. But the claim sounded too ridiculous to be true. (and honestly, if anyone else told you a major patch was coming with no other info, would you have simply believed them, given Blizzard’s history? I doubt you would have, if you hadn’t already seen the video)

perhaps you missed this part of the thing that you said

because you like to immediately jump to conclusions all the time

I’d be skeptical and ask what they’re referring to/what their source is or check it myself before I go in guns blazing calling them a troll

Perhaps you missed me specifically referring to this thread, not the AMD thread,

Because I was talking about this thread, not the AMD thread.

However, I understand your confusion in retrospect because I jumped from commenting about one thing to the other with no context in between. So my bad on that.

Fair. But there is a lot of trolling in this forum, so it’s an easy assumption to fall into.

I will make a concerted effort not to jump to conclusions, but I’d certainly appriciate a concerted effort on your part not to make such a huge stink out of me making a mistake.

looking forward to it

I mean it with all sincerity. I’m not actively trying to make trouble.
