Can’t even beat Acolytes…
acolytes have 926 EHP x DPS / Food^2, making them more effective combat units than unupgraded ghouls, fiends, mountain giants, archers, spellbreakers, etc before damage/armor types are accounted for (with upgrades, ghouls are about twice as effective). Raiders have 971 unupgraded, 1769 upgraded, but the damage/armor penalties mean acolytes deal 150% to raiders and raiders deal 50% to acolytes. So acolytes come out 64% stronger than upgraded raiders head to head
anyone whos familiar with the mass acolyte rush cheese strat should already be aware of this
of course, the other thing is that acolytes are less gold efficient than ghouls. 2 acolytes are better than 1 ghoul, but thats 150 vs 120 gold. What enables the acolyte rush is that they can be produced far more quickly with necropolises serving as both production and food, requiring no lumber, and acolytes being able to build and mass repair ziggurats (on sacrificial skulls), be cheap sacrifice fodder for a lich with rod of necromancy, and surround heroes far more effectively- not to mention having a high resistance to early game AoE while on blight due to huge regeneration
The raiders are fully upgraded if you watched the video…
3/3 upgraded any other unit can prob beat an Acolytes.
Raiders are a siege unit, their role is to take down buildings and restrict movement of key targets.
That combined with claniraq’s provided math makes me say “Well I ain’t surprised.”
I wouldn’t take any of “FunnyWarCraft” videos seriously, these battles are unrealistic and in human hands, with micro and decisionmaking, its always a different story.
raiders have speed, ensnare and fantastic siege damage along with pillage.
they are easily one of the most useful units in the game.
Unless attacked by Acolytes as a base defense
