Obsidian Statue Essence of Blight/Spirit Touch Cooldown Bug

There’s a strange interlinking of mechanics associated with the Obsidian Statue’s Essence of Blight and Spirit Touch abilities, leading to an end result that is likely unintentional and in any case problematic.

Both Essence of Blight and Spirit Touch cast instantly, even though the Obsidian Statue has a cast point of 0.5 seconds - so it “should” take 0.5 seconds for the spells to actually be cast. However, instead of actually causing a cast time, the cast point of the abilities is added to the abilities cooldown instead. This is likely intentional behavior, however it leads to a disconnect between the abilities’ “duration” (1 second) during which the abilities cannot take effect on the same unit again, and the abilities’ de facto “cooldown” (1 second due to the ability + 0.5 because of how it handles cast point = 1.5 seconds). This means in theory, units could benefit from these recovery spells more than the cooldown on a single Obsidian Statue allows for.

This allows a player with enough actions to spare to cast these spells together alternatingly on two separate Obsidian Statues, allowing Essence of Blight and Spirit Touch to work in a 1 second interval instead of the usual 1.5 seconds. While one can view this as a good mechanic, a skill ceiling to playing these units and potential investment of player actions outside of combat for faster regeneration, it is fairly obscure (as this specific interaction is never explained and probably not known about by most players) and seems to rather instead create a large gap between top level play and mid level play of the Undead race.

I believe it would be best to adjust the Duration of both of these skills to 1.5, matching the cooldown once more. Alternatively, the Obsidian Statue’s cast point could be reduced to 0 (which it de facto is) to make the cooldown of these abilities actually match what it says in their data - notably this ‘cooldown buff’ should only be done alongside reducing their effect by 33% as well to maintain the same efficiency. Or alternatively yet, these abilities’ unique interaction with the unit’s cast point field could be removed and have these actions actually take the Obsidian Statue 0.5 seconds to cast.
