hold shift and left click on them, then control 1 again to save it
Thanks bro <3
too bad Blizzard didn’t create any guides to this in 2020, you are lucky that we are such a nice community here. Trust me other games are 10x better for beginners.
you know how many guides are available on youtube? this forum is not the place for guides lol
well, age of empires 2 definitive edition has a multi stage in game tutorial on how to play competitive online with current build orders, strategies etc.
look we all know reforged isnt a good remaster, we all know theres better remasters, but aoe2 is not a better game than wc3 and people didnt need “ingame tutorials” to enjoy wc3 for 18 years, that is certainly not the one thing that would have saved this remaster lol… like I just said theres tons of guides on youtube so, how does it impact a persons enjoyment by having the guides built into the games main menu? its just laziness
is there something specific you need help with? pretty much any question you could possibly have has been answered in a video guide, but I guess you will just say “its too hard to search youtube or to ask another player, so the devs should put the videos directly into the game for me” lol, but the fact is built in tutorials are never very detailed and theres always more to learn from more detailed video guides made by the top players…this isnt an issue that would have changed peoples opinions about the game (especially not the hardcore fanbase that remains playing the game regularly)
Just one little note: WC3 didn’t really need any explanation because it was completely self explained and intuitive. There were well made big buttons and even a command line explanation for all the chat commands. The tutorial mission pretty much explained all in game commands and if it happened that you didn’t use something was just because you didn’t really need it. Example, some people after years didn’t know about waypoints or spell queues but they didn’t use them anyway.
Instead you may still find people struggling with Reforged interface. The chat is a sad example…
So, we come from the good old time of no guide needed, but reforged people is not that lucky it seems…
its playable tutorials, not videos.
if blizzard cared enough for this game to include such tutorials, the game wouldnt be such a mess in the first place. AoE2 De just shows how its done. and reforged is dead last on the other end of the scale.
just saying, its not very fun training a game thats 20 years old, abandoned by the developer and the professional scene only consists of a few players that played that game for almost two decades and cant let go and theres no other competitive game that the wc3 skills translate well into. theres basically no fresh blood in the wc3 pro scene, blizzard doesnt put any price money in it after this year and general price money is low.
you might not want to hear it, but the wc3 competitive scene is on the dying bed, blizzard esport is in general. you are inside a bubble. wc3 is not popular. the biggest wc3 streamers suffered a huge decline in viewership over the past two years and grubby has a huge chunk of his viewers watching him for his personality and not the game. the biggest tournaments have no more than a few thousand viewers. if grubby switched to, say, league of legends, his viewcount would skyrocket like mad. if grubby cannot get enough out of his wc3 streams anymore, he will be forced to switch games, and the one streamer allocating around 50-80% of wc3 twitch views will be gone.
the aoe2 youtuber “spirit of the law” has 6 times the subscriber count of back2warcraft, and he mostly does super nerdy math-theorycrafting videos. his recent video “How the AI pushes deer/ostrich/zebra” has triple the views of the wc3 WGL winter finale over at back2warcrafts youtube channel.
it hurts to see all the work that the community still puts into the game while to blizzard this game and its community is worth less than a pile of dirt. just remember the “classic tournament” blizzard hosted hit around 30.000 to 40.000 live viewers on twitch out of nothing. there was potential in that game.
in a year blizzard fixed less about the game than CDPR fixed on cyberpunk in two weeks. patch support dried up and you can basically consider this game on legacy “support”. there wont be a miracle patch turning this game around. what you have now is what it will be until it gets shut down, and it will only get worse over time as blizz continues to lower server cost for the shrinking playerbase and it has already started.
even w3champions is at the mercy of blizzard - imagine the scene without it. the game would basically be impossible to play outside of netease.
it needs just one bad patch to kill it because blizzard decides their game shouldnt be played on third party servers anymore or they break it for good but cannot be bothered to fix it and wc3 goes dark instantly.
all the tutorials were made in anticipation of the reforged beta - look up those guides which went online after reforged got released.
grubby explaining the importance of creeping - miserable 8k views.

i’d manage this kind of viewcount by just showing cute pics of my cat.
you “could” draw together a good chunk of learning material for wc3 scattered over the internet - question stands: why should you. nothing about wc3 says “im a fun game, please play me”. you cannot even properly play matchmade games without 3rd party tools one year after release and a beginner will get stomped 24/7 or needs to throw away countless hours of lifetime learning a game thats not worth the investment.
for the most popular games ever ppl will invest their time to look up tutorials. wc3 is no such game. its the unpopular beginner ripper 3000. you need weeks to learn the basics, months to understand the game, and years to truly “feel” it. why would anyone do that to themselves for a game thats on the brink of extinction?
and how much time is even left on the wc3 clock? - probably as much as blizzard personnel working on reforged. matt morris, pete stilwell etc jumped ship and vanished from the face of the earth even pre release. this is a good indication of how much time and effort you should put into reforged.
I get what you are saying Darkstalker, and you are mostly correct, but WinterDryad is also right
The campaign itself is a tutorial, it explains just about all the basics. I dont think adding “playable tutorials” would be the changing factor of whether or not somebody gets millions of view on youtube
Obviously Reforged is a mess, but its not about tutorials… if you want help there are plenty of people and resources available to help you… are you specifically trying to stream???
Are you somebody who has no interest in the campaign mode? what difficulty are you playing on in a standard 1v1 against the computer? do you use custom hotkeys? yea there are annoying hurdles to jump over before you can enjoy the game, and that sucks, but once you get through the “training” phase it no longer matters if the game is broken, its still better than aoe2 lol
I can beat the first half of the campaign in about 2 weeks (the RoC campaign, aka the first night elf campaign), if you are new it might take a little longer… once you beat the first half of the campaign then you should practice beating the computer on insane in a 1v1… that shouldnt take you more than a few weeks all together, after that you are ready to begin learning to “feel” the game but you cant force the game to be easier then it wouldnt be so unique anymore
its really not any different from any other competitive strategy game except, this one has a diehard group of longtime fans that can make it seem a little daunting to get into since there are unfortunately a lot of trolls, but again a tutorial doesnt fix that
now you are just ranting lol… theres another thread you can post in about CDPR if you want… I would think with almost 400 posts on this forum that you are here because you actually enjoy the game right??
