No shadow on custom units (since reforged)

Since reforged, there has been a bunch of maps where some units have no shadows. It seems as though every custom unit does not have a shadow.

Reproduce:

  • Open World Editor
  • New map
  • Module -> Object editor
  • Right click any unit (my test uses footman) -> New custom unit… -> OK
  • Place the newly created unit using the unit palet (and place the base unit as standard)

You should notice that (at least on classic graphics - I do not have access to reforged) the custom unit does not have a shadow, whereas the standard unit has one (it has one in World Editor, but not in-game).

It’s quite game breaking for some custom games since you rely on shadows for unit position (and some units are made to ONLY have shadow)

EDIT: For reference, this wasn’t a problem before reforged as far as I remember

also, my config:

  • Windows 10 x64 1909
  • World editor 1.32d (6108)
  • Warcraft 3 1.32.3.14883

keywords: JASS, world editor, no shadow, missing shadow, warcraft 3 classic, warcraft 3 reforged (for google)

Still have this issue please help

Yep this issue still exists, I do hope they will fix it soon :open_mouth:

bump, still exists

Still having this issue as of 9/18/2020

I also have this issue. However, its when using the create unit trigger. It seems pre-placed units work fine but when you try to create one using triggers they just don’t have shadows.

Blizzard pleas fix.
