No forums avatar means possibility of delay

IIRC, prior to its release StarCraft: Remastered had these static versions of unit portraits we can use as avatars on its forums. The fact that we still don’t have any of those despite being less than 6 months away from the deadline could be a indication of those assets being not showcase-ready at all~~which means the development is behind schedule.

I feel i’m mostly saying this to myself but…don’t invest too much leisure time into waiting for it. Odds are pretty good there will be nasty surprises. Do something else for entertainment. I can always play some Skyrim and Fallout 4 :video_game:, for one~~

Well, the delay of the beta beyond spring, no announcement to commemorate the anniversary of WC3 and no news for the better part of a year is perhaps more damning.

But honestly, what are your feelings, predictions? Can it be before WoW Classic? Or right after? Or before BlizzCon? Or at? Or in December?

Should the beta include the campaign?

Actually, why? They have ignored it for a decade and a half. The only posts on the Mojo Stormstout’s Strategy Guide were wither after a big patch or New Year’s Eve. I legitimately don’t get why everyone is making a big deal out of the anniversary.

What if forum avatars, since our forum accounts are linked to our BattleNet accounts, will be based off our in-game ones as we climb ranks and get wins as the various races?

Judging by how we’re :grin: fewer :grin: than 6 months away from the deadline, and that the beta promised this spring was not yet delivered, things are about 3 months behind schedule. I also have suspicions that they’ve been withholding WC3: R news to protect WoW Classic’s revenues. Now, Activision tends to :moneybag: meet deadlines and hype something out of proportion before releases to stay in its character :moneybag: where the old-school “You’ll know when it’s ready”-Blizzard usually :sunglasses: keeps a low profile and ignore deadlines before surprising the world with 11/10 announcements and releases :sunglasses:~~

Therefore, I predict it will be after WoW Classic (August 27, 2019), certainly after BlizzCon (November 3, 2019) during which they will hype it up and let people try demo. Then, depending how much the old school Blizzard and Activision spirits there are in :us: the current studios behind Reforged :malaysia:, the actual release date will be:

  • December 2019 (if Activision)
  • Spring 2020 or beyond (if old school Blizzard)
