It would be so sweet that if not only for the new designs of the units (that look amazing). Also all races would get a new unit. For example the night elfs would get a kodo rider (instead of a wolf rider). Anyone else got some thought for new units that could be added to a specific race?
Why would Night Elves get a Kodo rider?
They are nowhere near the region of the Tauren
While I’d rather new units be added only with new campaign content (which I reckon would come in 2020+, if at all), might as well go for it and pitch in an idea or two for each race!
I’ll assume the time, game-wise would still be before WoW Classic, so I reckon the following units would sort of make sense:
- Human: Upgrades / Toggles for Priest (->Shadow Priest) and Knight (->Knight of the Silver Hand) that would either work as a more expensive, more powerful alternative with a different skillset or like Troll Berserkers do, where it’s a permanent change.
- Orc: Troll Scout (low health, fast run speed, has some minor form of stealth)
- Undead: Plague Apothecary (ranged, all sorts of DOT-related mechanics dealing with poison)
- Night Elf: Druid of the Moon (Ranged glass cannon)
For Orcs it’s easy: Warlocks/Death Knights (gul’dan), iron horde, Ogron Gronns (Garrosh)
Forsaken may get Undead Vrykuls or alchemists like Putress. Maybe a Blood Prince would be sick too, or Rotface.
This game has so much potential…
They could add Nagas as a playable race for pvps, I mean, they had all the engine developed for the campaign and we couldn’t use them in melee. Well they will add the Iron Horde since we play as Grom in Reign of Chaos campaign. I lost track of why did the ogres leave the horde from War 2 to 3, but it would be really nice if we could get them too
Full Troll faction with Rastakhan, Zul’jin.
Full Orc faction with Garrosh, Blackhand.
Full Elven faction with Kael’thas, Sylvanas, Alleeria.
Full Old God faction with Faceless One, Qiraij, maybe even an Old God.
The possibilities are amazing. We wanted Warcraft 4 for a reason. Don’t just replicate a game that’s already playable. It doesn’t make any sense.
Guys, it’s not Warcraft IV, but Warcraft III Remaster. You can make those on a custom game, but it’s not going to bring new races to the melee games.
Umm, Garrosh was left behind in Draenor and was nothing but a peasant during the time Warcraft 3. It is only in WoW BC when Thrall tells him how his father was really a hero of the orcs and Garrosh breaks out of his shell.
That’s just Horde and Thrall was the Warchief. There was no Iron Horde back then, Thrall had just reformed the New Horde from the remnants of the Old Horde that invaded Azeroth in Warcraft I and II.
Shows that WC3 Remaster is good idea, since people don’t seem to know the history before WoW
lol then they would actually have to work on it instead of just recycling and sucking more profit out of it lol
You don’t have to explain the lore of Garrosh, I already know it. And no he wasn’t a peasant, he was the General of the Mag’har Orcs back in Outland (yea, not quite the same thing). He did kinda hated his father until Thrall told him some new info.
But I’m speaking for gameplay. Would immediately buy any worthy custom races/faction in this game. Iron Horde is for me an instant buy without a doubt. Just like Fel Horde (which also happened before Warcraft 3) and Old Gods (which happened after Warcraft 3).
Well yeah, he wasn’t a peasant exactly, but my point was that he was no hero and that it would make no sense there to be a faction with Garrosh as the leader of it during the time of Warcraft III. Also where would all those things fit the story of Warcraft III? If you want them, you can make a custom map, but there’s really no room for such huge factions in the current story without continuing the story a lot and therefor you are really asking for Warcraft 4, not WC3 Remaster.
I hope they seperate Compaign from Multiplayer so they can add whatever they want.
When you think about it, its like Starcraft 2 you know, you could seriously mess up the balanse in compaign if you decide to buff nerf some units, Blizzard should learn where they already did good, don’t change!
There is no way this game is gonna be a replica of Warcraft 3 + Frozen Throne. And that’s it.
They’re going to add more campaigns, at least the same size as the mini-campaigns of Rexxar in Frozen Throne expansions.
There is going to be expansions, DLC’s or more content on top of the Frozen Throne expansion. Co-op mode like in Starcraft is highly possible because it’s a success in SC2, maybe customisable factions for multi-player is something they can explore, or even a whole new factions.
Who knows, a game with no change is doomed to fail fast. Especially if it’s an old game I already played hundreds of hours.
“. Co-op mode like in Starcraft is highly possible because it’s a success in SC2”
Oh yeah babby,
Well you do have a point there. At first I thought you meant like new campaigns for new factions or totally new races, which could be a bit too much for just a Remaster, though I’m pretty sure there will be extra content and DLCs coming later after the release.
And now that you mentioned it, I think he said in the Grubby’s stream that there might be some additional model variations, like female and male versions of Archers and Priests or something like that. Factions like that I see quite possible. It would actually be quite awesome to unlock different kind of model variations to all units and eventually you could like gather a totally different looking race.
They will probably add in buyable game portraits and models like in Starcraft 2, but new units in general would have to require NEW CONTENT, so I’m guessing either compaigns or coop.
Potraits don’t effect gameplay though…
It’s the most played mode in Starcraft 2, stated by Blizzard.
I agree, portraits are useless and should be lowest priority… and yea I like skins too. But I hope to see some gameplay changes more, in fact, I think it’s mandatory.
I like skins too, I think it’s easily possible for Full Humans to have a Quel’thalas Elven skin. With Blood Knight instead of Paladin.
But imo I prefer gameplay changes… it’s been many years since I played Warcraft 3, but I still remember all the units. It’s boring if this is the ultimate future of Warcraft 3 Reforge online gameplay.
They can make some Models of Wc2 units like Gul´dans DK and make them Available in the Map Editor
I don’t have a specific vote for what new units would be cool to add to the game- but I’m just chipping in my two cents that I would be jazzed if each faction did indeed get one new unit.
Glad that WC3 Reforged is finally here. But in all seriousness I am hoping to see new content with this. New units would be awesome… an expansion with new heroes/races… eventually, that would be great.
