My issue is simple, as a map maker, I have, at the moment to use SD even if I like real time shadows, because I can’t just “decide” how my map will look in Classic “HD”.
Important: some of the toggles are in the editor but for the editor only, however if you want the toggles to be available for the map itself they should also be in Map Options (Scenario → Map Options):
Issues:
HUD toggle slider, this is a big problem, already the not being able to enforce view distance by the map maker was a problem when it was added, now this is even more of a problem, because many custom HUDs simply break by not giving control to the map maker of what it is displayed in the editor.
Portrait in cinematic: please allow us to decide if they should be on or not, this should be on by default by the way (in the actual game), new players won’t know how to turn it on either.
Graphical toggles
Every single of the graphical toggles, should be enforceable by the map maker in HD mode.
For example let’s say you import a Classic looking model, someone has reforged models in his options now the map looks completely off, weird, it takes control out of the map maker.
I would say the three options for graphical toggles would be (if HD for the map is turned on):
1)User decides
2)Classic HD
3)Reforged HD
For stuff like UI scaling:
1)User decides (on by default)
2)Map maker decides (ignores whatever the user has in options).
Necessary toggles:
1)Classic HD/Reforged →
Environment
Heroes
Icons
Units
Buildings
VFX
2)Others:
Music type
View distance
Fade occluding objects
HUD sidepanels
Enable improved Zoom
All of the toggles listed above affect map makers one way or the other when they don’t have control, for the worse.
