Can we get subforum for feedback? Now general discussion is drowning in spam-whining people who threw money at you guys year ago without reading that you never promised new campaigns, only retcon (which from what I know means adding small details to existing thing just to change it slightly without rewriting it), and now they’re crying that they won’t get new campaign just like it was never promised. It’s really hard to say what’s on your mind, when your voice is drowning under another 20 topics about canceling pre-order, whining about remake being remake or just random vents why they’re mad.

This isn’t true. They promised a fully reforged campaigns with retcons and 4+ hours of reforged cutscenes. Which is still on their website by the way

did you consider that “4+ hours of reforged cutscenes” could literally mean “updated graphics, animations, camera angles” etc. ? nowhere does that imply a whole new and changed story. people are going on a lot about “reforged” meaning one thing or the other, when it might as well just be potato - potAto

They called their remaster “reforged”, thus they said they’re going to remaster their campaigns, not add new ones. But if you’re so sure that they promised new campaigns, then find me where did they promise that. It must say, that they WILL add totally NEW FULL campaigns, not missions, not cut-scenes, full pledged campaigns.
P.s I pre-ordered the game today, because they’ve backed down from retcons. WoW storyline is really bad after activision bought blizzard, and I really don’t want them to ruin this story too.

They never promised retcon, you need to get your eyes checked. Reforged campaign does not mean retcon. And I’m glad it’s gone. It’s not a cut of content either. You have no idea how much they planned to change or not or if it would even be considered “additional”

kinda disappointed to see the thread i spent like 20 minutes writing being drowned out by whiner posts and posts calling out the whining posts in less than 5 minutes on the front page.
this is what happens when 20 different threads about the same subject are spammed at the forum due to the outrage of part of the community, and the people who make “haha qq more” posts aren’t making it any better…
oh well, guess i’ll try again in a week or two, when the so called “i’ve cancelled my preorder”-people hopefully make like a bad rainy day and leave, so there can be room for some creative discussion of the game… i made a thread about the potential for new undead, demon, naga and drenai campaigns that take place before, in between and post current story, and it immediately got hijacked by people who are unhappy about the AI, and people who said “oh you mean you want warcraft 4 then”… i even a put a “ravage me gently if you must ravage me” disclaimer in there, and it seems to have been completely ignored.
now im just waiting for it to be corrupt by people advertising for preorder cancellations to complete the cycle… sad really, that an otherwise interesting topic just gets drowned in a sea of tears because some people thought “reforged” meant “revamped story” and are being Karen-“can i see your manager”-types about it.

some mod activity would be helpful, because I didn’t even knew that there was topic like this, and I’d really like to read about creative ideas from community, not another “UGHHHHH they scammed me” post. Heck in forum guidelines they have this paragraph

Your definition of reforging is very odd. You see reforging implies that you melt down something into something different. Not the same thing

So you came back empty handed to tell me I’m still “wrong”, while you can’t provide me direct reliable information about this “new campaign”? Come back when you can prove me wrong, reading between the lines, and making wrong assumptions isn’t proof, it’s making a fool of yourself at most.
You are misquoting the critisism completely. None of us argued for a new campaign. We argued for a reforged campaign.

Pretty sure that isn’t how metallurgy works. Ever watched Forged in Fire? It means softening the metal so you can reshape it. Now Industrial metallurgy is quite different but we are not talking about industrial metallurgy in this context.

Yeah, because WotlK was made only between 9th of July and 18th of November, and blizz never worked on plotline for this expansion before that specific date. It’s truly purely activision made expansion… I mean, come on, even wotlk had plot hiccups, but it wasn’t that bad, not that I can say the same about every next expansion. After WotlK, most of the plot is really bad, characters are dead or alive not due to their experience or skills, but due to plot armor, like Illidan or Genn Greymane.
As for mod activity, I don’t know if you read the title, but I asked if it’s possible to get feedback subforum, because this subforum is filled with outraged people, who decided, to rant about their own mistake, and blame it on developer, thus people can’t talk about the game anymore. If they can’t do that, I’d love to get rid of spam messages, this is still a forum, there are some rules on how to use it.

I’m talking about TBC which ruined Illidan, Vashj and arguably Kael’thas and was released way before the merger.
To the contrary. WotLK lore was utter garbage. It is only loved because the normies can’t think and consider the cannibalization of Warcraft 3 good because muh’ nostalgia and muh’ Arthas.
I say that if you are a fan of WC3, you should hate WotLK, not love it. At least, Cata onwards had the decency of adding new lore, not butchering the old.

Totally agree, WOLTK and BC were pure garbage of narrating. The Scourge is a joke, they controlled nothing of Northrend.
But at least, there was a maturity in the story that we don’t have anymore.
Cata-Mop Lore were the best written.
