New campaign units and heroes you expect

With the introduction of the High Elf Archmage, Runners, and new unique models for almost every character, what are the new campaign units and models you expect? Here’s mine…

Here are some characters from pre-WC3 novels I want to see (since they were published before WC3 was released they are canon to WC3 and the “post-WC3 therefore non-canon” argument does not apply here)

  1. Karamyn Langston (Lord of the Clans)
  • He was the second in command of Aedelas Blackmoore and his fate after Thrall the orcs were liberated remains unknown so we assume he died some time after. He should be the final boss in Departures before freeing Grom Hellscream
  • He should be some Human Warrior hero as to introduce the said hero type
  1. Highlord Taelen Fordring (Of Blood and Honor)
  • He should replace the footman adjutant in March of the Scourge and make him like Uther who helps defend the base (make the chapter harder to compensate)
  • He also deserves a unique Paladin model
  1. Mayor Barthilas (Of Blood and Honor)
  • Since there were enemy militia in the WC3R Culling of Stratholme demo, he should at least appear an enemy hero leading the said militia, treat him as some minor boss like Salramm and Meathook
  • He should also use my suggested Human Warrior type to fit with the militia
  1. Vereesa Windrunner, Rhonin, Drenden, and Modera (Day of the Dragon)
  • They should replace the named generic Archmages in Under the Burning Sky but Vereesa would be still a Ranger
  • It would also be nice if Vereesa, Rhonin, and Modera appear as minor cameos in Shards of the Alliance
  • Drenden should also replace one of the other ghost generic Archmages in Dungeons of Dalaran
  1. Garona Halforcen, Anduin Lothar, Khadgar (WC1)
  • They should appear to be the ones who kill Medivh in his flashback in The Last Guardian (thanks Erlanger89)
  1. Isiden Perenolde (Day of the Dragon)
  • Since his fate remains unknown as of today, and he was last seen around Gilneas, we can assume he was shut off and later died to the Scourge. He should replace one of the generic enemy heroes in Brother’s Stormrage or better yet, be the Death Knight enemy hero in the enemy base objective.
  1. Alleria Windrunner, Turalyon, Danath Trollbane, Kurdran Wildhammer (WC2)
  • They (plus Khadgar) should also appear as cameos in The Dusts of Outland when Kael’thas narrates to Vashj of the Sons of Lothar invading Outland
  1. Teron Gorefiend (WC2), Kargath Bladefist (WC2), Zuluhed the Whacked (Day of the Dragon)
  • They should replace some of the enemy heroes in Lord of Outland
  1. Saidan Dathrohan (Of Blood and Honor)
  • After Garithos is killed in A New Power in Lordaeron, he should make a short cameo where in visits his corpse and leaves shortly
  • This event would foreshadow the creation of the Scarlet Crusade

And some units:

  1. Orc Spearthrower
  • The Darkspear Trolls were so out of place with the Blackrock Clan. This one is the one I most expect to see in campaign.
  1. Kul Tiran Marine
  • I don’t think Kul Tiras employed Dwarves in their main army so I wish there would be some Human sailor rifleman
  1. Kul Tiran Tidesage
  • Same with High Elf Priests, this unit could be the healers from the Kul Tirans
  1. Gilnean Houndmaster, Stromgarde Trollslayer, Silverhand Knight
  • I think the chapter Cry of the Warsong could have some unit diversity and variety with the enemy Alliance forces
  1. Dwarf Footman
  • Apparently, there was a bandit unit that was a placeholder for melee Dwarf enemy units in the chapter Into the Shadow Web Caverns.
  1. WC2 Death Knight
  • Change the Far Seers in Blackrock and Roll too to them

And then some WoW and post-WC3 novel characters that wouldn’t hurt the WC3 canon:

  1. Prince Aliden Perenolde
  • There should be some bandit creeps in Blackrock and Roll with him as an enemy hero creep with them
  • He should also reappear in Blackrock and Roll Too leading an enemy bandit base that somehow allied to the demon worshipping Blackrock Orcs
  1. Velonara
  • She is one of the most well-known Dark Rangers and since Thalorien got to have his own model and spotlight, I think it would be fitting if she gets to have her own model as a High Elf Ranger; She should be an enemy hero in Key of the Three Moons
  1. Koltira
  • Same as Velonara, he also should be an enemy hero in Key of the Three Moons
  1. Darbel Montrose
  • She should appear in Blackrock and Roll Too as another enemy hero leading the Alteraci bandits as she may have been the Human Mage in WC2 Orc Chapter Alterac
  1. Baron James Ashvane
  • He is said to have died in Theramore alongside Daelin so he should be one of the final bosses with him on the chapter A Blaze of Glory; Or better yet, change the generic name of the Chief Petty Officer to him

I’d like to know what campaign units you wish to see as well

I think it would make more sense if it was replaced with a forest troll axe thrower, since they were still with the black rock orcs. And replace the far seers when you battle them as undead with some kind of warlock hero.

I wish to see more demonic units on the Twilight of the Gods, felguards, succubus, eredar, etc.

More Broken Draenei units. Also Id love Akama to be playable Tawern Hero.

Well, there are no Tidesages. The Chaplain and Hydromancer got Kul’Tiran vibe instead. The rest I would love to see in some shape or form, excluding Velonara. She is not important for the fall of Quel’Thalas. The only character that deserves to be in is Belo’vir, because he holds more power than Sylvanas and has the main voice in Convocation of Silvermoon a.k.a the ruling class of Silvermoon, because at that time Anasterian was a constitutional monarch.

I think the High Elf Archmage would represent him since he was like the Grand Magister of all High Elves and then there’s that Archmange.

You’re right about the Chaplains, I forgot they were the healers instead of the High Elf Priests.

I actually wish Garithos’ forces would also have Chaplains in A New Power in Lordaeron but change the Kul Tiran crest to Lordaeron or Silver Hand

Would be nice as well but those units were TFT exclusive. Let’s hope it’s no longer the case in Reforged
