New Build Version B won't install

I just installed Warcraft 3 from the link using my old CD key (from the account settings page). Meaning i installed via the proper way to install Warcraft III.

everything installs fine - then when i click ‘play’ on the warcraft 3 page on battle net client - it gets to the lions page and says i need to install ‘new build version B’ - then has a big fatty ‘update now’ button - then exits…then nothing. Battle new client is not updating Warcraft III. I am just stuck in this loop and cannot play.

I looked at teh common trouble shooting posts and don’t see anything similar with others. Any help would be appreciated.

FWIW, i am in americas and i have tried other regions and those other regions wont allow my to login…i seem to get furthest in americas region but again I am ‘update’ wall blocked. THanks!

Two things:

  • Make sure you didn’t install and run the PTR. If so, install the live version.

Ah thanks! Appreciate it - Ill wait until maintenance is over to see if that fixes it. Sorry been away for years and wanted to do the campaign again - wasn’t aware of maint. my bad thanks!
