Never heard of this CPU. There is no AMD CPU model name that has “x3d” on the end of it.
Regardless, you are wrong. There is no "negative optimization by Blizzard for AMD CPUs. This is a false statement that has been repeatedly parroted by various members of this forum despite no basis or evidence.
Your argument “My friends with intels don’t have problems” is missing a huge amount of context. Like which CPU they’re specifically using, along with GPU. You also didn’t mention your own GPU.
AMD CPUs perform similarly to their Intel counterparts where the specs are similar. There is no reason to make threads like this other than to bash AMD.
I have an AMD Ryzen 9 7900X 12-core 4.70 GHz CPU, which i’ve had for close to 2 years at this point (i.e. its not a brand new model) and I get 300+FPS in normal games, and all but the most intense, unit-spammy custom games it stays well over 60. Whatever problem you’re having is not in any way tied to your CPU carrying the AMD brand name. And whenever a patch is released and people complain about FPS, it affects all users, not just AMD users.
Most of the time, this is just people using a lower end, cheaper CPU and then they compare it to a higher end, more expensive CPU and then say “intel is clearly better.”
You have to compare CPUs of similar price/spec or your comparison is invalid. I can’t make any comparisons for you, because the CPU model as you’ve given in your post does not exist.
oh boy I get to shame you for confidently being wrong again this soon? https://www.google.com/search?q=amd+5800x3d
on topic, just checked my 5 year old laptop’s cpu (intel i5-8300H) vs the 5800x3d and mine is leagues worse and I still get up to 60fps https://www.cpubenchmark.net/compare/3254vs4823/Intel-i5-8300H-vs-AMD-Ryzen-7-5800X3D
okay, I admit didn’t look it up but i’m fairly familiar with their product lines and ive never heard of this one. Most of their CPUS are just “Ryzen # ##00X” or similar. Unless you have a threadripper or something lol. So, you got me here.
But again, I’m on an AMD CPU and my FPS is fine. I’m still not wrong about that. It keeps coming up here over and over and over again whenever a patch makes people complain about FPS. Yeah, my CPU is better than the one listed here, but if what they were saying was true and Blizzard simply hates AMD CPUs or something, I would be having their problems. And I’m not.
200-300FPS at all times in regular games, and still way better than this OP in resource hogging custom games. And I refuse to believe I’m just the only one who has this CPU or am incredibly lucky to just have the random convergence of all the right hardware to allow the game to perform normally.
The first gen Ryzen 7 I was running before this also ran the game acceptably throughout. Not great, but also not worse than the Intel CPUs other people around here have been rocking.
