Greetings,
I am posting feedback after being encouraged/suggested by my support email.
I enjoyed what I played during the beta. However, the final product is a major disappointment, as I was under the impression that a lot of things were either placeholders or a “work in progress”.
I personally care about gameplay more than I do about character models (although, still important), but there wasn’t enough to justify the cost for me.
- The UI should have received a complete overhaul. This is a missed opportunity for this release. Elements should have been moved around and unnecessary buttons removed. The UI should have filled the width of the screen, instead of leaving space to the sides. A lot of information could have been added on the bottom bar and the top bar could have been removed altogether - freeing up more camera space for the player to enjoy.
- The zoom level shouldn’t be fixed at the original height, I should be able to zoom out as far as I like, or at least another 150% of the current height, during a melee map.
- The menu system needs serious work. It feels clunky and misplaced. It isn’t intuitive. There is no easy way to work out how to make a single player game (ie. versus bots). Creating a custom lobby in private is counter-intuitive and makes no sense for me to be online to play by myself against AI.
- The new multiplayer lobby makes no sense, what was wrong with WC3: TFT lobby? Needs serious work.
Things that might bring me back:
- Cooperative mode - similar to that in SC2. Please.
- Refor…cough… Reimagine user interface, seriously though, fix these oversized UI elements. They’re hard to look at.
- Go back to roots - its one thing to modernise, but don’t forget what made Warcraft… well… Warcraft!
- Reduced price - I think the game is severely overpriced, I’d rather a severely discounted game with IAP than to pay exorbant costs for so little.
Anyway, I hope that this is constructive and useful to Blizzard devs. I’ll be playing WC3: Classic for the time being (once I work out how to do it lol).
