I wanted to do a well organized post soon after Reforged announcement, but after “do you guys not have phones”, Activi$ion takeover, HotS development cutted / Esport HotS deleted and many other spot on PR statements and leaks i’ve almost lost all the will i had to write some feedback, especially because they will most likely ignore it.
These are just random ideas, suggestions, concerns and considerations that i thought of on these months.
- The abomination model looks good, but it’s incredibly generic, even stitches from heroes of the storm looks more like a WC3 Abomination (except that dumb face that he got), the overall shape of the creature should the one of a pear, not a square; Plus it should be way more bloated and badly constructed like his WC3 Classic model is.
Vanilla abomination walks all twisted because it has one leg way smaller of the other one; one arm it’s shorter of the other, his face it’s so swollen that you barely understand that it’s based on a human one, plus it has one eye and a lot of teeths missing.
It didn’t look badass or menacing, it looked disgusting and perversed, a true “abomination”… The reforged one look instead like your generic zombie brute.

I fear that they will remove all the blood from the models because of censorship (like it already happened with the abomination), why don’t make an option to have fully uncensored models and textures for everyone instead of castrating them to be as polite and friendly as possible?

For some reasons human structures seem to float above the ground, some added foundation is needed

As everyone stated, it should rain on “the culling” mission, if you want to make the cool final cutscene with all the houses burning, just make the rain stop after destroying a certain amount of houses.

Terrain textures and overall lighting need a huge revamp and upgrade, they really look off, especially terrain textures, i am not expecting textures as detailed as StarCraft 2 ones are, but at least add more detail and resolution.

I don’t know if it’s just me but orc structures lack the amount of team color that they used to have on WC3 Vanilla, i hope they wil fix them.

It would be a great idea if they look up to StarCraft 2 post launch development, like features added, fixes made, quality of life changes, UI reworks and new game modes added (Archon mode and Cooperative mode).

One great idea to improve readabilty of units would be to add a “Classic” skinset that changes all the textures to the original color schemes on the base game, so for example Knights and footmen would be white/team color instead of black/team color.

It should also be added an option to increase team color intensity (mostly make colors brigher) and apply team color to spells that usually are not team color, like StarCraft 2 did and it was a success, every single unit is super easy to spot with that option.

When adding missing genders to heroes in multiplayer, they should make sure that they are still clearly resemble the original heroic unit, for now they are naling this, Female Demon Hunter looks really similar to the Male one (that we still have to see, but whatever).
- Footman’s shield should be bigger, it’s bigger on the reforged cinematic and it’s bigger on wc3 vanilla in-game model, a bigger shield would make it easier to read on the field of battle and make visually a lot of sense.
- The Ghoul looks fine, but i think it should look more skeletal, not because i hate his WoW model (it’s not that good on WoW tbh), but because it would make it easier to identify on the battlefield.
- If they want to make some campaign maps look like their WoW counter part, they should try to not simplify them (like they instead did with the Stratholme one, i mean c’mon, the main base is straight on the entrance and on the middle of the map, in this way you have immediate access to the city, the retreat route to defend the main is way shorter and the city itself it’s way smaller, it’s so easy to destroy all structures on the demo showed…), it’s important that they keep the same difficulty of the original.
- I think that it would be also a great idea to have four difficulties like StarCraft 2 HAS, Simple-Normal-Hard-Brutal; Hard would be based on the vanilla difficulty, Brutal even harder.
- Would be a great thing to have classic WC3 camera angles on in-game cutscenes as an option, but i am not too sure how much would it be worth it.
- I really hope that they will release an uncensored intro reforged cutscene, since the new cutscene has canine skulls on the orchish banner, instead of a human one, you know, “we must cater to the Chinese censorpship…”, ffs…

It would be nice to see some of their WC3 splash art redrawn for reforged on their new style, like that bad*ss scene of Cenarius+Illidan versus a sea of skeletons.

Will multiplayer wardens (hero unit) have feathers on their back or will they use the same model as Maiev?

There should also be here all the option that starcraft 2 has regarding health bars visibility.
FPS uncapping it’s necessary at this point, also an in-game FPS Counter, like the one present on starcraft 2 “remastered” console skins. -
They should add the “Exxodus of the horde” last 3 remaining missions that were present on WC3 DEMO, they even have alpha voice overs still present on wc3 files, so redubbing them shouldn’t be a problem.

Arthas shoulderpads and head are too high, they should be lowered, especially the right pad, the shoulder pads should also be less big, now they are way too big.

Plus his head is so high that his neck look super long for some reason.

They just have to use the Reforged concept art for arthas too but without some silly modifications.

He needs bigger eyebrows, some beard and a dimple on the chin, he has a babyface now that doesn’t fit at all, just look at how his Heroes of the Storm face looks super close to his WarCraft 3 cover appearance.

Uther is too slim, he needs to be thicker and wider, like on Heroes of the Storm and his own WC3 Reforged concept art, right now he looks so esile in comparison to all the other heroes and units.
