There’s lots of discussion on UUS here, but no mention of MBS.
IMHO there’s no strategic benefit to not having either of these. The lack of these is basically an artificial UI impediment. MBS is standard in RTSes these days, and people will get annoyed if they can’t do it.
When training units, there are two MBS options:
- Train one unit per building per click.
- Train one unit per click (building is probably the one that will produce it earliest). IMHO this one’s best because it gives greater control.
Perhaps a modifier key could be used to switch between them.
Aside: I’d also add rightclick autotrain for a modern UI, where if an auto-train-toggled unit is able to be produced right now it is immediately started.
I’m confused by this request because as far as I’m aware you can already select multiple buildings at a time the same way you can with units. You just can’t have buildings and units selected together. Granted, I don’t play multiplayer and strictly play the campaigns or against bots, so is this a problem that’s restricted to online play?
You already can select multiple buildings. I always wind up with my production buildings on 3 and research/tech stuff on 4.
This would be neat and probably already doable in triggers for custom maps but frankly I wouldn’t be interested in having for melee/ladder or even the campaign.

It’s probably just my bad memory sorry, I remember complaining about MBS and UUS together years ago but as of right now I don’t have my WC3 login to check. Maybe it’s already been patched in?
Anyway, probably best to ignore this thread.
