The concept behind MMR should be to give balanced games to players.
A few days ago in 2v2 I played as random team against two players togheter in arranged team and they had 1000 MMR points more than me and my ally.
1000 points of MMR more is really a lot and therefore how can a balanced game be if the system itself recognizes that an opponent is enormously favored?!
Today, in 1v1 I played against a player who had 1000 points less than me, winning these games is not fair play and it is a waste of time for both players, even more so since my increase is of MMR was of only 5 points while my opponent lost 12 points in a clearly unbalanced game.
I think developers should set a maximum difference.
Better to wait a little longer while researching a game than to start a game where there are large differences in skill between players.
In any case, 1v1 is in my opinion in a good state of development, most of the games are balanced. Otherwise 2v2 are still far from being balanced matches.
The Elo system cannot be applied to single entities of teams playing against each other. It is simply not designed for it.
This is why 1vs1 seems to be balanced.
Doesn’t the MMR system need more than a week to properly gauge and seed players into where they belong in the system? The lack of patience from people on this forum is pretty wild, you can go back and look at how INFREQUENTLY patches happened for TFT, you really need to temper your expectations.
The MMR system is fine for 1v1. The fact is, the ladder is still relatively new and the player base is smaller than other games. I agree, playing someone with significantly less MMR may be seen as problematic, but there are going to be times where players within a given MMR range are simply not playing.
1000 is definitely too much, but we should have expanding queue’s. It really sucks when queue’s dont expand and u can never find games or take absurdly long times for each search. I remember in WC3 TFT I left my game open searching ladder for 48 hours straight when I left town and it was still searching when I came back, back then I was only able to match like 7 people. Please never bring that back, that was awful lol.
That said, MMR is definitely broken today. None of my games have counted and I just played somebody 1500 MMR below me (on a near instant search) which shouldn’t happen. Also they just need to fix the system first, many of my wins still count as losses or just don’t count at all, or they show up randomly 24 hours later.

You are right, fix system problems takes priority.
I am in the same situation as you, some wins are counted as losses.
However I think the problems come to regular periods.
To give an example in the past days all the games I did in 1v1 have been recorded correctly, on the contrary since last night every game I do gives me an error and is not recorded.
