Missing hero skin

First off, thanks for adding the campaign heroes as skins for skirmish, however there is one important one missing and that is Arthas as death knight (In classic mode at least). While the reforged mode uses the same DK Arthas model in both skirmish and the campaign, this is not the case for the classic mode, as that one still uses the original standard death knight model and there is a small difference between him and the Arthas one. If it’s not too much to ask, I would like if he gets added as a skin option in a future patch.

I would like something similar but kinda the opposite, if possible a new Reforged model for the Death Knight so it can have it’s own generic Male Death knight model besides the Arthas model it always use.

Also if possible thalorien dawnseeker would be great as well for the humans as a paladin model too.

And one little detail could you make the swordsman unit for high elf and blood elf and archer unit for high elf and blood elf, eyes blue, same with the high elf work/ Blood Elf Worker.

Lorewise it doesn’t make sense for them to have their eyes green since that doesn’t happen till after the events of frozen throne.

A small simple edit

Thanking you much for the update WC3 team, really looking forward to the future.

I have some new findings so most part of this post has been rewritten.
(I’ll add the rest findings later. Now I need some rest)

I was mistakenly thinking that any character without a Classic icon in the “SKINS” meant that they can’t be used in Classic mode, but it can be. I guess the staff didn’t give them Classic icons because they think there’s no or “not enough” difference between them and melee hero models in Classic mode, however there are still some skins that differ from the melee version, such as:

  • Dagren the Orcslayer and Sir Gregory Edmunson (different colors of hairs, eyes, hammer handle, shoulder & forearm & belly guards, trousers, book; they also have different crest for their belly guards and clothing covering their upper arms)
  • Halahk the Lifebringer and Lord Nicholas Buzan (different colors of hairs and eyes)
  • Uther (different colors of hammer, shoulder & forearm & belly & shank guards, trousers, book; he also have different design for his book, trousers, shoulder & arm & shank guards; clothing covering his upper arms too)
  • Azgalor (different colors of shoulder guards, bigger physique)
  • Balnazzar (even retained his bigger physique)
  • Varimathras

Even though some skins are visually indistinguishable from the melee version, the voice is not the same.

The following skins can also be added:

  • Ghostly Archmage
  • Jaina
  • Mannoroth (even though he and Azgalor lack hero’s aura but it shouldn’t be hard to add)
  • Kel’Thuzad [his former model (with pharaonic head ornamentation) can be re-used]
  • Ghostly Keeper of the Grove

Furthermore, if Jaina can be implemented as a skin then unmounted Thrall and Malfurion can be used too?
Even Lord Garithos could be considered as a skin for Paladin if Ranger can be used as Dark Ranger’s skin…
Perhaps Illidan’s normal version could be used too.
Also, Admiral Proudmoore could use his unused exclusive icon instead of Paladin’s.

Anyhow, thank the staff for bringing new mechanics and possibilities to the game

What they should do is make RoC and TFT versions of all these high/blood elven units like they did with the priest and sorceress. Worker, Engineer, the elven villagers, Swordsman, Spellbreaker, Archer, Lieutenant, Sylvanas (living), Jenella, Archmage (elven), Blood Mage, Thalorien, Anasterian, and Kael’thas all need both blue and green eyed versions. You know, just for the map making community. Dragonhawk rider already has it like the priest and sorceress albeit as a seperate campaign unit, but it’s there none the less. For the blood elven units that have the characteristic red armor, the RoC version textures should have the teal color instead also. I doubt blizzard will do any of this however so we will have to rely on people over at the hive workshop to proved the models and textures. I do feel like the archer and swordsman have RoC textures in the game and they’re just not used, but I could be wrong about that.

I tried edit War3Preferences to replace melee DK with DK Arthas that day — doesn’t working, that means players probably cannot use skins that are not officially listed in “SKINS”…
