Maybe most requested: Classic/Reforged Voices Switch!

In the German version, there is something wrong with the voice-acting. During cut-scenes and narrative dialog in missions it uses for some reason Classic voices, while units use when selected and commanded the Reforged voice-acting (as it should be).

The only exception are the 3 prologue-missions that were once part of the demo. Since there probably were no German voice-acting for the demo, the cut-scenes and in-game narrative dialogue use the newer Reforged voice-acting.

I have not tested the condition of the English voice-acting yet and I do not know the situation for other languages (please share, of somebody knows).

There is no way to change it back in order to experience all cut-scenes with modern Reforged voice-acting in German.

The best way to solve it is to let us players choose, which version of voice-acting we prefer, just like with the graphics in the Reforged menu.

Well obviously it means they only re-recorded the unit voice lines and not the campaign ones.

In English the major changes are the elimination of some of the “joke” lines you get when you click on a unit repeatedly. Probably cultural censorship because they think some of those jokes wouldn’t fly today or something.

Incorrect, as seen in pre-2.0 Reforged YouTube videos, all the the campaign voice lines were re-recorded for Reforged release. (edit:) It was then reverted in 2.0, regarding the campaign voices.

You yourself said otherwise here. I don’t understand. You just explicitly stated that the cutscenes and dialogue use the Classic voices while the units use the Reforged voices. So, you’re contradicting yourself.

2002: Original release with Classic voices
2020: Reforged relase with fully re-recorded voice acting, including units and campaign
2024: Reforged 2.0 major patch release. Campaign voice-acting was for some reason reverted to Classic, while Unit voice-acting remains Reforged.

Got it?

Okay, that’s clearer. And this is regardless of whether you’re actually using classic/reforged mode?

Exactly. I have tried both modes as well as turning on/off the Classic_sounds on/off options, which was added in a hotfix.
