There’s still no abiltiy to make ability icons look like they are passive skills (black corners). Please look into this and give us an option to make all icons have the black corners/borders.
I mean any icon you need you can theoretically open the casc file use software like blp lab to make them passives and reimport, however it’d be nice to have all default icons have all pasives/autocast etc versions since they already have the art, it’s not that much work on their part to add them, at least reforged icons since they have the base art
You can also theoretically raise your own cow, tomatos, and wheat to make a hamburger. Why don’t you?
just so you know I have personally made every tft base icon a passive for one of my maps in which I used tons of passives as was required to be approved on hive.
One can get the icon image from the CASC, edit it and then import it as a custom icon that looks passive. This is how it has always been done.
Icons were never made ‘automatically’, each one exists in two variations a drawer did seperately. Don’t expect this to change.
What 2 variations? Go find me a frost nova icon that has a passive version icon of it.
God damn do i hate that kind of posts “Yea they promised us to give us a better world editor but who cares if they simply not even hold one single promise of theirs, so F u and F everyone who dislikes this game or asks for a feature that could have been so easily implemented that its kinda funny that they haven’t done that yet”…
A simple checkbox that gives the icon you chose a passive overlay on top of it. Nothing to much asked for.
William said they decided not to do this because some custom maps use their own unique style for passive icons and other border types, and you would break those custom maps with an algorithmically enforced border.
All of the features they decline just make it worse… so because it would break maps who could get fixed in minutes, they refuse to introduce a feature that could help new map makers
But in reality would never be fixed…
This could work. It would have to be a per ability field “Automatic Icon Boarders” which defaults to off. This would allow new maps to take advantage of such feature while older ones keep compatibility.
The main issue is applying the boarder automatically in a way that looks good. Due to potential resolution differences with icons it would have to be applied at draw time. The automatically applied boarders themselves could images which can be imported/customized for stylistic purposes.
My map editor feedback is that there still isn’t a version for mac clients <.<
Well… I was talking about concerned icons, the ones of passive abilities…
