hey! had same problem as many of you, but fixed when i registered BOTH old games with cd key at my battlenet account!
had only the frozen cd key registered and didnt work but now it works when i registered the reign too.
This is why I backed up my 1.31 installation and told it no when it said “Hey there’s a new update, do you want to install it?”

I’ve seen one report that it’s the RoC that makes the difference. As in, all that’s needed is the RoC key to unlock both Classic RoC and TFT in the Reforged client.
But at least this shows that the TFT key alone doesn’t.
You got proof on this? I still have my RoC key…
You have the means to verify it in your hands!
But as for my saying it should work, it was verbal with someone I know. The only written confirmation that may exist later is in a post that hopefully the poster will report back once they try it.
If you try it, be sure to follow the cheat code instructions in the post I linked. TFT no longer stands separately from RoC. They are now linear with each other so you won’t see TFT until you finish RoC.
