I’m having trouble with the main menu. My FPS drops to around 1. I want to turn off the animation in the background to fix this. But I don’t know how to do this. Seeing this screen like this now makes me sick.

Not sure if it’s the same solution for everyone, but it works for me and many others who have posted in that thread. You just go into Device Manager and disable Intel Graphics (ur onboard graphics) so it forces WC3 to use your video card.
Unfortunately this is just how the game is programmed. It was presumably set up by junior staff and is coded in Chrome, hence it drains your entire system just to show the main menu. I’ve understood that the root cause is that the coding pulls information from your OS but it refers to an incorrect table. This can be updated (in less than 3 minutes, I’ve been told) but since blizzard doesn’t actually know how the game functions (and it has been 1,5 year) we are kinda stuck with this. Don’t forget: the entire team got ‘volunteerded to continue their carreer elsewhere’.
Currently Blizzard advices people with these issues to buy a better computer (no joke, they actually do this). Other have said that in 4 - 5 years from now hardware will have improved so much it will overwhelm the gaps in poor coding of the game.

That solution of disabling integrated graphics doesn’t work for me.
Asus X102BA. The integrated AMD A4 Radeon HD 8180 can’t be disabled. That would leave only software rendering, which the menu system appears to be defaulting to.
When the game runs, check the task manager. You will notice the warcraft exe and another called BlizzardBrowser exe. Make sure both are not using integrated.
That doesn’t help - especially on a laptop with only integrated graphics that are more than capable of playing the actual game. (integrated Radon HD 8180 here).
The menu system is badly programmed, it’s an impediment to playing the actual game, and it needs to be fixed - by Blizzard.
