Hi.
Bought the remaster yesterday and booted up a custom map (battle tanks). I had the game on max settings on 1440p and it gave me around 20-30fps in the middle area. And during this the gpu utilization was around 30-40%. Why isn’t it using more when it clearly needs it?
I’m running an nvidia 3080, 32gb ram and an amd ryzen 9 5900 so my pc should easily be able to handle this game. Or so I thought…
Anyone with similar issues? Suggestions?
Is the base game (i.e., campaign missions, Blizzard-made skirmish maps) running smoothly (however much smoothly this garbage can run)? If it does - the problem lies within the custom map itself. Probably too script-heavy.
Hi and welcome.
The best you can do is refund your purchase. Reforged graphics, despite their 2012 looks, actually take more hardware demand then 2021 graphic games. The coding of this game is just really bad. Even pro players with high-end computers (as well, this is the fundamental to their income) experience really poor performance. In team games fights a FPS of 7 is not uncommon even on the better half of the hardware spectrum.
Frankly, only two solutions are available: first is to play in classic settings. You don’t need reforged for that so if this is your solution then simply refund your purchase. Secondly is to wait for hardware to become so good it can deal with the incompetence in the game coding or reforged. Latest I heard is that the market expects computers can handle reforged in 4 - 5 years from now.
Blizzard his advice is literally to lower graphics, switch to classic settings or, behold: buy a new computer (they honestly gave this advice to people).
