No, my argument is I want my toys to be the same quality as the toys already in the game, and that I’m not capable of the same quality as the 2018 cinematics because those would literally require voice acting, which I’m not willing to pay for or allow cheapo sucky voice acting… nor do I want to waste time telling people how to say a line.

Not to mention I have no idea how the animation triggers would work, if they’d even be available.

Original style doesn’t require voice acting and will have all the animation triggers available.

Tell me something. If I made a Warcraft 3 Reforged machinima using the old style of cinematics while the 2018 style was the new norm in-game, would YOU watch it?

It’s not the cinematics that people are upset about, it’s the style of the cutscenes that were shown last year from the demo mission of the Culling of Stratholme. People wanted to see the story reimagined in that style which also shows the beautiful work on those HD models. They are upset that it seems like the cutscenes are gonna return to the mundane way the classic campaign ones were delivered, with a box of text at the bottom of the screen and a portrait of the unit delivering the lines.

People saw the demo and the cutscenes at Blizzcon last year, then went to check the website and the features and saw this: “40+ hours of epic gameplay, with 4+ hours of reforged in-game cutscenes”, they expected the same treatment to the rest of the campaign as the demo showed. The complaints about scrapping some content like new voices and certain character focus that will align better with WoW’s story are secondary to that from my understanding.

The Game is more important and The Game would be better with the new cutscens.

If you want to make a machinimas maby you should learn how to animate?
JoseBV is making a beautifull machinimas and he is using the in-game voice acting so the reason you are happy with the old one is…

I’d need voice actors.

I don’t have money for good voice actors and the free ones all suck or would have zero interest in my content anyway.

Ergo, I need to use a style that doesn’t require voice acting. The classic WC3 style of cinematic doesn’t need voice acting.

Nobody would watch Classic War3 graphics either after Reforged comes out.

Except, you know, the most die-hard of purists. Which, frankly, I wouldn’t want them watching my content anyway.

I know the new style would be pain in the - you know what -. It seems you love making this machinimas. You want to make them and show to the people.

But it seems it’s more important for you to have a good “tool” to making machinimas than having a Great game in refreshed form.

I don’t know yet. This would be my first, and it’s one I’ve been struggling to get off the ground since before Reforged was even announced. Mostly due to lack of the needed art assets.

Wait, what? How does the style of the cutscenes in the official campaign change the tools available to you to make your own campaigns? Would Blizzard have removed the ability to make old-style cutscenes completely? Not really.

I actually did not know you were making Machinima cutscenes, my comment about “toys” is purely about the old vs new vs not-new-enough campaign.

Well, i have to disagree with you Casual, I recently replayed the forsaken campaign by tomoraider and dude, just reading the lines and seeing the characters was great, wouldent mind at all jist reading the texts will looking at tbe close-ups in those cinematics in the reforged style, Turno has also stated that he will do it like this. And those campaigns by tomoraider were so awesome, and guess what WoW inspired and truly great.
