I wonder what purpose LAN mode actually have in 2018. Not finding games in LAN is not good unless you’re using 3rd party software that connects you with other players. Right now LAN is just useless in my opinion and those who disagree are the hostsbot’s promoters that want them back.
(Sorry ain’t gonna happen, no matter how many times you ent fanboys cry and complain. Hostsbots wont return to the game ever again.). Why have LAN when there is Battle net? It makes no sense.
LAN doesn’t have lots of features that Battle net have. Just completely remove it from the game menu. Right now that LAN mode is used by private servers like ENT connect, Garena(if its still alive), Game Ranger and similar private server platforms.
Previous patches hostsbots connected players from Battle net from all 4 realms + players with illegal cd-keys using private servers like Garena and Game Ranger for example. Now since hostsbots are no longer a thing this LAN in game menu has become useless.
Maybe it should be replaced by DLC Shop game content that allows us to purchase new campaigns, skins, voice announcers, even music.

Because since bots are no longer a thing this feature is not used, unless you have second computer and play with a friend near your house which is useless since there is Battle net
i am still going to use it when playing locally.

but when they improve peer to peer and when lag will be reduced it would make no sense.
not all people wants to join battle.net. as a result, lan is the only option with those players.

By not all you addresses people with disabled cd-keys that are not allowed to use Battle net
Well I can agree with those that have technical issues or IP ban and have to wait 2 weeks(Static IP) for unban, but the majority of people using LAN are the players using private platforms that I mentioned on my first post.
Why no LAN ? And if I don’t have internet ? Or bad connection ? What if I want to play with people present there and I don’t care of online ? There are plenty of reasons to support LAN …

And how exactly you can play with people using LAN without Internet? As the team is working hard the new battle.net will soon arrive that will solve lag problem, just like Heroes of The Storm for example.
LAN is good for tournaments. Also there is no reason to remove it, or do you feel detriment with it? And don’t start with that Micro-Transaction crap.

Because you dont need internet to use LAN. only need a router/switch with two computers connected to it or more to play each other. which is what tournaments for Warcraft 3 use now. lol

What’s wrong with another server that only Players who participate on Tournaments can enter? And DLC content is better than loot chest model. We could have in game currency like Gold. Nothing wrong with that.
And who will waste so much time and resources to good game and gain no profit of it? Its the modern day gaming industry. Sure fans are not happy to pay with money for new content, but without profits the updates slowly stops at some point and game has become forgotten and thanks to the Chinese tournaments of Warcraft III the game will bring lots of people when Reforged is out.
There is not a single game company that releases new games just for free and gain no profit of it. You might say but people ordered Reforged that’s true but look in the past and when Warcraft III was launched before The Frozen Throne. Custom games wasn’t that attractive that they was in the early 2005-2007.
What the hell is wrong with you, lol. You still didn’t give one valid reason on to, why the hell the Lan-option should be removed. Just don’t use it over you don’t like it. End of story.
You are weird.

You don’t need Internet in 2018 LoL. Such players probably living in a cave. Buying computer without internet is just a total waste. Tournaments used LAN because there is not official server only for players who compete on Tournaments. That’s why they used LAN. World of WarCraft, Heroes of The Storm have own servers that only pro player who have the rights to compete can enter.
What you said its true LAN can offer better latency than the current battle.net but when battle.net 2.0 arrives there wont be a reason to keep LAN because there will be server improvements. And you will ask why? Well there is your answer. WarCraft III Reforged is already on The battle.net app.
You must first sign in then you can enter the game. Its the same for World of WarCraft, Heroes of The Storm, Hearthstone and Diablo 3. This is why LAN is going to fall.
There is your reason why it should be removed when reforged is released.
I’d much rather keep LAN in case the internet goes out which happens. I don’t see any advantages of removing it.

Yes but like I said in the previous post. All Blizzard games using internet connection. And since reforged is already on battle.net if you lose internet you cannot play the game. You will stuck in sign in menu.
LAN doesnt take your freedom from you. Dont bother using gaslighting that people are criminals unless proven otherwise.
I never played WCIII through battle net, except for one game like a month ago in the beta test. No intention of doing so aqgain. I won, but I dont have an addiciton to win to keep me going.
People trying to pressure taking away features, critical such as LAN are a problem. It seems they dont like the freedom of not having to be online. One cant guarantee to respect privacy onoline when it is ordered otherwise by state authorities. I am entitled to my personal information, never sell it or anything like it.
Always online is cancer.
This Thread is a joke, just like OP. I would recommend every halfway intelligent Creature to not enter this discussion. This guy is obviously trolling.

I didnt read it really but you never know who is serious, because there are some poeple who want to be noticed by bliz.
While I am against bots and all, I don’t still see why LAN should be removed. Some people may not have internet connections, and even if they did, so what if they want to use LAN? I just don’t see, what’s so bad about having a possibility for LAN. A possibility for something, that you personally might not need, is no way going to reduce your experience. Don’t need it? Just don’t use it.
And the argument to remove it, to just have space for a micro-transaction shop button, is a bad one, since they could easily make space for that button without removing the button for LAN.
