I’ve come across a repeating issue. When I first open the game (playing in TFT) if I click on the “multiplayer” button as soon as it becomes available, my TFT snowy background disappears, the background goes blank for a few seconds while the multiplayer interface opens. It then reappears with the ROC barrens background. When this happens, the options panel to try and switch things back becomes inaccessible, opening a blank, unresponsive options pane.
The only thing I can do to fix it is to exit the game, reopen, and wait several seconds after the mode select screen opens before clicking “multiplayer” this time around.
The workaround isn’t too terrible, but it’s really weird. This behavior is new with the most recent patch.
This sounds to me like it could be an issue related to loading data because if you wait it works fine and if you click too quickly it doesn’t. Sadly I can’t reproduce this issue. Maybe it requires a lower end machine.
I’ve tried clicking multiplayer as close to the first frame it can be clicked as possible and I still can not reproduce this.
So even if the behavior is new, I think it has more to do with your system, and perhaps it was close to doing this and something now pushed it over the edge.
After so many patches, it might be worth uninstalling the game completely, cleaning all remaining files and cache, and then reinstalling.
If we can’t reproduce it on our side, it’s probably caused by corrupted files on your laptop.
