Is wc3 reforged worth the 30 dollars as a returning noob?

I am significantly older now then when I first played this game. But my youtube algorithm started showing me Grubby videos from 2024, and now I have the itch. It’s not about the money. It’s about the principle of paying for something and receiving what is advertised. Are all the major features of WC3 present?

When I played. We had FFA mode of 4 players, 4v4, 3v3, 2v2, and 1v1. There were also weekly tournaments. There was a very alive Use Map Settings community, with games like risk, DBZ, tower defense, ect - which I imagine has justifiably depreciated.

So like… what are the queue times for 4v4 and 3v3? It is like… the same 6 people or do you get different players constantly? Or do you not bother unless it’s peak time because no one is on?

I would be buying WC3 for mostly 4v4 or 3v3. I loved doing that as a kid. If that’s not present anymore, then I don’t think this would be worth the 30 dollars.

I would say it is. My suggestion though is to buy it and try it, and if you’re not happy you can always refund it by opening a support ticket and requesting one.

It goes on a 50% discount occasionally, I would wait for that

If you still own your old warcraft version, play with this one as i do. if not, then wait for a special discount as it was offered before some weeks with 50% discount. I think all better players prefer to play on old graphics anyway.

The ladder / stats counting is broken since day 1 and since then nothing was fixed. currently ffa is broken. I see no real and active support or interest existing for this game anymore. The hardcore fans can just hope this will change one day.

But for 100% it is not the same as in the old days anymore where everything worked properly. For some daily random games it is ok.

If you want to pick it up, wait for a sale. A lot of issues have been fixed (though many still remain).

You should be able to know pretty quickly if you’ll be able to enjoy it. If you can log in to the game and join a match, then you should be good to go. If you can’t get past the lion gate or just see a black screen or the game crashes constantly, then just refund it.
