Is it as bad as they say?

Well that is true, but again it all comes down to investing the the time and money required to it. Btw I played that AoM: HD Edition Chinese campaign and it was nowhere near the quality of the original game or The Titans expansion, you could tell it was made with minimum resources/effort, it wasnt even nowhere near the quality of any of Age II campaings that were made years later by the “Forgotten” team or the Definitive Edition team.

So no, I would not want something like that, I would only want new content if Blizzard would be able to deliver their A-game…and honestly requesting new campaings now for Reforged when the rest of the game is so half-baked…suffice to say I would first want to see them able to make Reforged the best it could be as remaster of WC3 and only then we could talk about additional content.

But yes, its entirely true, that Warcraft’s storyline/world would have plenty of opportunities for more content in RTS form, but the matter of fact is thats not where they put their money and effort to, when they have WoW bringing in the money.

I mean im willing to bet they would bring “War of the Ancients” as WoW expansion, rather than making it as additional content to Refroged, let alone making entirely new WC RTS game around it.

Like said, sadly there just are not enough of us RTS fans/players out there.many of us who still like RTS games are the ones who grew up with them back in 90s and early 2000s. The younger generations went for MOBAs and other game genres instead, Starcraft II has perhaps been the only exception in this, but even its popularity waned thanks to League of Legends and DOTA 2 stealing much of the audience that might have otherwise been interested in RTS games.

Is it as bad as they say?

In a word, yes.

If objectively and without any side luggage it’s about 5-6/10. It works, mostly. For the graphics they have system requirements are ridiculous. Visual changes are highly doubtable. Some obvious elements are missing. Netcode either works perfectly, or brings pleasant memories about early '00-es Internet. But if you take into account classic Warcraft III, which is better in each and every way and was a 10/10 game, this is just too harsh to experience.

so many crash in multiplayer it is sad :sleepy:

It’s pretty bad if you’re someone that grew up with the original WC3 to see that Blizzard managed to release a client that is more buggy and less feature rich than the original client that came out 17 years ago. With that in mind, you can understand why people are pissed about this release.

If you’ve never played wc3 before it’s not bad and worth the run through the campaign at least. It’s just frustrating to us older players to see such a disastrous release that not only did not live up to expectations, but ruined/took away the old client as well.

Old game was better, especially after it got FullHD support (1.29 patch in 2018).

Reforged is literally a downgrade in form of removing all multiplayer stuff like profiles, championships, ranked whatever else just name it - its not there anymore.

Does the age of mythology have a new race?
great.

It was the second rts that played the most. good time plan B

You’ve already heard it from everyone else. It’s the worst case scenario.

But on top of that, the old game is dead. It’s been killed and taken away.

As if Blizzard means to tell us that there’s nothing left of what they were anymore, ever.

Recently, I’ve discovered a game called Stellaris, it’s pretty nice. I dunno why I even mention it, it’s not like it’s an rts or anything. I’m just so disappointed that when red flag after red flag happened, someone at Blizzard stared them down like the abyss and drove right over them, and DOES NOT CARE.

I preordered back in December 2018 and played the beta as soon as it came out all the way until release. These issues you specified were all there during beta albeit some worse but never obviously fixed. So after day 2 past launch day I requested a refund. I will not continue to be a beta tester after paying them for the privilege.

I check back every few days just HOPING I hear this stuff is getting fixed but alas nothing…I’ll give them my money when I see they’ve made a playable damn game.

If the only thing you care about is the singleplayer campaign, go for it.
If anything else regarding singleplayer custom campaigns and online multiplayer, might need to forget about it.

how many streamers are still streaming it, there is your answer

So far, for me, there’s been virtually no bugs. However, even when it works, it’s just Warcraft 3, with no significant additions or improvements. Some features, like the UI and pathfinding feel incredibly dated by modern standards, and the fact that they’re selling this at full price when there’s almost no updates compared to the classic is kind of ludicrous. If it was like $10 it would maybe be tolerable.

One can already make Reforged only maps using Classic (just RoC CD Key attached to account). Sure one cannot test such maps without owning Reforged, but World Editor works the exact same with and without Reforged DLC. One can even preview in the terrain editor using Reforged (“HD”) graphics without owning the Reforged DLC.

This is kind of the problem with the Reforged DLC… If you own classic you already have access to most of what Warcraft III has to offer. Currently Reforged is literally just for the revised graphics, the slightly revised campaign and some in game icons.

I do not own Reforged. I did not pre order it. I do intend to get it in the future, possibly after a patch or two.
